What you are not getting is that there is plenty of content to get you to max level (slow or fast speed is not an issue). No where while leveling you have to grind mobs in order to fill the level gaps. Isn't that what player expects while leveling? even if they cut XP to half there will be enough content to level up. At the old speed one could level up all the way to max and would still have quests pending in their journal.
Again, you are mixing the speed of leveling with the amount of content in the game. Two seperate issues. They do share some common ground, but they are very much different.
If for example a game has 40 hours of content (numbers made up just for sake of discussion). The rate of experience gain will not change that. The rate of xp gain only affects how long it will take to reach max level, not how much time it will take to complete content.
At the end of 40 hours a player might be level 30 or level 22 depending on how much xp is awarded, but they will still have completed all the content available. Increasing or decreasing xp doesn't change how long it takes to complete a quest or how many quests can be completed in a normal play session.
The problem most people have is that they blow through the levels as fast as possible then wonder where is the content yet they miss the story that got them there in the first place. I hear all the time the scream for "high level content" yet they refuse to give the quests a chance to develop and want to get to the end as fast as possible then wonder why there is nothing to do.
I am sure some will say "well there should be some end game content". The problem people have is there is no such thing as "end game content" in a MMO because of patches, updates, and expansions.

Considering that you are getting XP while consuming content i don't know how i can i seperate the both. You said 'problem is that game content will be consumed soon'. i am telling you that there is enough content to keep one busy for long time even if it is consumed by someone at a fast pace. DCUO has solid end game at release. Usually players hit lvl cap and find end game lacking. Its not the case with DCUO.

Have you seen that endgame content? Most of us haven't and certainly not taking anyones word for it on a message board. We are going off what we have seen so far. I heard is was very geared towards PVP. If that is the case that will be a huge turn off for those who don't like PVP. Rumors are great, just remember they are just that.

Not rumors, if you have played beta you get a good idea about the end game. Moreover, there is plenty of information floating on official forums. Spend some time doing your own research and you will realise what i am saying is true and not just rumors.

I am playing the beta. Haven't seen endgame and don't claim to know what it will REALLY look like. I have seen posts and speculation and to my suprise it doesn't always pan out. WOW! I am shocked by that too.....

You think now this close to release SOE will just feed us more speculations? stop being lazy and like i said, go check the official forums to educate yourself regarding what is there for you at end game. Every player in beta i met knows what they are going to get in end game and are pretty excited about it. i can give you a long list here but i am not going to do your homework for you.

So you are not happy either way. Gotcha!! if leveling is too fast its a problem if it is slow and PVE is a little harder its still a problem. So what is the third option?
Your complain was that content will be consumed too fast.
Maybe it is just the words I am using that are causing confusion, sorry if that is the case.
The speed at which players level isn't the core of the problem. The consumption of the total available current content is.
Slowing down leveling doesn't solve that problem, just as speeding up leveling will not resolve it either. It just means people will have to consume, for example, more of the mentors story arch quests to reach max level, which is something people have already expressed concerns about.
Just to be clear, the rate at which players are awarded experience will not have a direct impact on the amount of playtime it takes for players to consume the available content. They are two serperate issues.
What you are not getting is that there is plenty of content to get you to max level (slow or fast speed is not an issue). Having leveled up 3 different characters to 20 which is the current max level in beta, I have seen there is exactly the needed amount of content to get you to the next xp level to open up the next set of mission hubs but no more than that. But if you skip 1 or 2 of of the extra side missions you will be stuck having to grind on mobs to get to level up as there are no extra missions which happened to me on one character.
I also found at level 19 missions and mobs went from being even con to 2-3 levels above me and depending on your class this can make leveling up a hell of a lot harder.

Well seeing as how you get the majority of the xp needed to level from completing missions if there is any nerf to the completion reward xp it would destroy the game as grinding on mobs for hours to fill the xp gaps would not be in any way entertaining.
The beta is fun and ok. Many flaws need to be resolved before release. I can tell you one thing for certain, PS3 users are not accustom to paying monthly fees for games. They won't do it. The game will be an epic failure numbers wise if they charge monthly fees on PS3.
I will not keep paying for the same game over and over. This is why I chose Guild Wars over WoW.

Increasing or decreasing xp gain will not create more hours worth of content. For example: you would still have done the same 120 missions if you were given 5% more or less xp. More or less xp would not create more things to do, just increase your level faster or slower.
As for the endgame, have you played that content yet? I have a fairly good idea of what it is going to be and well I am not as optomistic as you are about it being solid, especially considering what is already being offered.

And that "not paying" comment is why Guild Wars only had 20 levels, and wasn't as expansive, and story filled as WoW. You don't wanna pay for the same gam over and over, but what really do you mean by that? You don't wanna pay to play a game that updates regularly, has a solid community, is quicker than most other games to fix problems, and listens to its community, is damn near always up except for a scheduled weekly maintenance? You can argue that WoW has you do the same thing over, but when you look at it, you're playing video games, MMO's that are more than likely fantasy based. I'd rather pay that small fee each month for a game like that than a game that only has 20 levels worth of content.

Again, the is NOTHING in stone on the forum about endgame, at least not from anyone with any authority, just what they are hoping to do. And you are right about the XP increase/decrease. Don't get me wrong, I have posted what I liked about the game, but there are alot of problems too...cost, monthly, and item store are just part of the equation.
End game is alerts (repeatable PvE instances), arenas (PvP), legend PvP (PvP as certain DC characters), duos (two players duo a repeatable PvE instance) and open world PvP. The loot goal players have to work towards are earning the correct currency to buy epic armour pieces.
Whee.
There is little replayability in DCUO and PvP is going to die a quick death when people have to start paying to play. Why? Because unless you've got a solid PvE player base, there aren't going to be the numbers to support PvP.
The most recent patch dropped damage across the board and nerfed healers. Some are saying it now requires more 'skill' to play, but it actually requires you to rely more on team composition and having powers that don't interrupt attack counts.

What else were you expecting? all these end game activities not enough for you? what other MMO you remember came out with so much end game content? 8 player raiding is confirmed for end game, and it is damn good for a MMO which is coming out next month. Atleast its not letting you sit idle at level cap and just feed you empty promises of content YET to come in some unforseen future.

No,no you misunderstand. To hear Paradoxy talk there was all this new different stuff for endgame. Now we find out it isn't. And no, it is average for endgame for an MMO. Played ALOT of MMOs and while the endgame here I am sure will hold people attention, it will be hampered by the other failings the game has.
