Would you play a modern war based MMO?

I always think to myself, how cool would it be if they had a war based MMO.
I.E.- Like a WW2 MMO that has tons of people on one server, and create platoons (guilds) and they assign you to do missions "quests"
so basically, it would be the same format as a MMO, staying away from the partying aspect, and is put into First Person Shooter format....
I donno why they dont make a lot of MMOFPS (massive mutiplayer online first person shooter)
if you dont like this idea, flame away 
but I dont see the bad thing about it...

WW2O is pretty fun, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. But realize, at first your goign to die, alot. And later on, your going to die alot, but get some kills in the process.
WW2 online is an excellent title. It had a rusty launch (who doesnt) and many game pundits actually predicted its quick demise. Well Cornered Rat really pulled out all the stops to bring it up to speed and did a terrific job. All up I guess I played for a year on and off before I got tired of it, but the game is excellent.
Now... would I play a modern Warfare MMO ? IN A HEARTBEAT!!!
I would love to see something like "Operation Flashpoint" as an MMO. Anyone who played a lot of OFP could not help but be impressed by the truly open nature of this game and those of us that also played MMO's often thought how sweet an online persistent world it would make.
Id love to see a modern warfare MMO..... I hope someone does it.

The website still says 19.95 to buy and 14.99 a month to play...is it still that price?
Ive been thinking about giving a whirl and perhaps try to review it

i played ww2o but i like planetside more but thats cause i like si-fi but a modern war mmofps would be interesting

WWII online is absoluetly horrendous. It's a cross between a jogging simulator and capture the flag while your character has the movement capabalities of C3P0.
The possibillities are there but the game needs a complete and total overhaul or better yet just scrap it and start from scratch.
They didn't have teleporters in WWII. You don't capture the flag, either. It is more of a king of the hill style of play where you must hold depots to capture them. It is a fine game that some 15,000 players play and until you give it more than 2 days of playing, you will know its true potiential
