Rift: Next Beta Event Dec. 28th

Trion Worlds and the Rift development team have announced that the next beta event will be held from Tuesday, December 28th through Friday, December 31st. This time, event participants will be able to log as either the Defiant or Guardian faction and will be able to play through the first 20 levels of the game.
About the Enter the Rift Beta Event
Choose your path as either a faithful Guardian of the Vigil or one of the technomagical Defiant in the third closed beta event for the upcoming MMORPG Rift. As players work through the first 20 levels of play, theyll have the opportunity to experience the new user experience for both factions, play through the zones of Silverwood and Freemarch, and run the first dungeons: Realm of the Fae and Iron Tomb.
Enter the Rift will be localized for English, French and German speaking territories.

Yeah, will we be able to enter opposite faction's start location and will we be able to join warfronts and do some actual PvP? Btw, will there be more events or full access beta next year?
Battle grounds ARE NOT PVP, dam WoW
Well, either open-world and battlegrounds (warfronts, scenarios, etc) are Player versus Player. I wonder if any of these aspects is present in that event. Also, I didn't play WoW, lol.
Yes all of these in BETA 3 since no more restriction on playing both factions.
Who could have thought that WOW could bring super power like USA to its knees?

They have pvp servers and you will be able to play both factions.

After Friday i'm off for the rest of the year, so it sounds great to me! This is the pvp event, right?
Looking forward to testing this game further. I also understood this cb as being for testing pvp elements, but don't quote me.
Fingers crossed I'll get in again, or receive one of those elusive VIP keys ^^
3rd beta was supposed to be pvp, however this is kind of an unplanned beta. Just another example of how amazing these devs have been in responding to feedback. Users demanded a beta over the christmas holiday, so they made it happen.

Uhg! I hate those guys. The Rift name was copyrighted by another company (Rifts by Palladium Books) and refuse to change their names despite the fact they've own the name since 1990! I don't understand why they can't just drop the Rift name. Would it be so bad to be known simply as Planes of Telara?
This is going to make it difficult for anyone to make a Rifts MMO (or even just a video game). Stupid fantasy MMO. I hope this game fails so badly that the company has to sell the games IP to Palladium Books.

And I hope that Palladium finally goes out of business, and the people involved get more of what they deserve. Sadly, I don't think it will happen, as they can survive on the cult of personality that gives them enough people willing to bail the company out time after time. Palladium was wise enough not to tangle with Trion and get curb-stomped into permanent retirement.

Honestly, I do think little of Palladium, but they can do whatever they want in their corner of the world, bully for them. I'd rather see Catalyst get the boot in the behind, if I had one choice of a company to disappear. I still think Battletech is worth saving from the thieves and morons who wrecked the game and the story, so I'm biased in that choice.
Looking forward to trying the game this week, and see a Live Event in action.

Isnt it a BAD idea to allow players to run characters on both factions for PVP......have we not learned from every game before this one?
