Gamigo has announced that the non-disclosure agreement (NDA) for Black Prophecy has been lifted as of today. With the lifting of the NDA, closed beta players will be able to discuss their experiences in the game.
We are happy to announce the next major step in Black Prophecy’s development; today, the Closed Beta Non-Disclosure-Agreement will be lifted. This means that it is no longer prohibited to publically discuss beta content, post videos or screenshots. In addition, the Closed Beta Forums will be opened to the public.
However, the beta invitation process is still in place and you will only be able to play the Beta if you have been invited. But don’t worry, we will open the beta in the beginning of 2011 to allow everyone to have a look at the game.
Until then we kindly ask non-beta testers to refrain from participating in beta specific discussions and bug reporting forum threads without the beta game experience required to provide productive feedback.

Comments
Wow, NDAs are being dropped left and right.
I'll be really interested in hearing more about this title. Let the comments flow!!!!
Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned.
Ok, I'll comment on what I feel I know enough to talk about:
Control System
9/10 - Pretty much perfect for this style of game. Wasn't exceptional in anyway but I had no trouble picking up the control system and it all seemed very intuitive. Far more accessible than EVE, for example. I'm more of a fantasy MMO gamers who's used to running, jumping, etc so it took a little while for me to aclimatise to the controls. Once you get the hang of flying your ship its great but it will probably take a while to master though, which I think is a good thing.
Graphics
9/10 - Can't imagine anything better given the setting. A very beautiful game to look at and play. I personally prefer a fantasy-type setting but as far as space games go, this is superb.
Look & Feel
8/10 - Loved it, but as with other space games, it did come across as being a bit serious/minimalist/staid (choose your adjective). Overall very polished and I guess it won't distract players from the action and beautiful environments.
Equipment, Customisation, etc.
No score as I can't say I think I know enough to comment, but what I did see was very impressive.
Game Structure
Very heavily instanced is all I saw but again no comment until I see how this is implemented in the launch release. I don't have an issue with this per se but I know some people will do.
That's about it from me.

it has potential mainly the twitch combat. i had a blast flying thru the station fighting gankers. but, on early beta i was pretty much lost on what to do. i didn't have much time on it but, i cant wait to try it again.
Interesting concept for the game. Been testing for a few months now. Testing so far has required lots of patience since there are lots of bugs currently which prevent you from completing missions to advance.
Recently there was a patch released that broke the patcher requiring everyone to patch manually but the instructions they gave to patch manually are not very helpful.
Fun game but main concern is the tutorial is not very well explained.
The game has really superb space flight element. Probably best of freespace and freelancer.
Its real blast to play.
But its also very much mission - instance based. No real open space.
So unfortunately no twitch based EVE, but very good flight simulator
Wow, I didn't think this game was already that far in development. Nice to hear.
The ACTUAL size of MMORPG worlds: a comparison list between MMO's
The ease with which predictions are made on these forums:
Fratman: "I'm saying Spring 2012 at the earliest [for TOR release]. Anyone still clinging to 2011 is deluding themself at this point."
I have been in the beta for a week now! A week where I have been unable to launch the game
Happy to say this game is what I always wished for when I was playing solo in space shooters.
A bit boring though, to be honest. But that may be because I'm clan-less right now.
I've been having a beta account for this game, but I never could get it to install.

So it's basically just an mmo freelancer?
Watched some youtube vids of beta and this game looks like a steaming pile.
If you could " Rent " MMOs like you can DVDs then this would be a renter.
It's F2P...

It was a figure of speech....
Meaning it's just mediocre and nothing to get excited about...
I hope this is true. Nothing beats freelancer in my book, space sim wise that is.
Awesome Game to beat the boredom blues at work

It plays alot like freelancer and freespace.
You have basic controls(the "turning your ship buttons and strafe buttons), you have acceleration/deceleration/braking/stop buttons. you have attacks
Then you have three different gameplay views - third person view, first person view and cockpit view.
The tutorial starts in a star wars Tie fighter kind of way, with you having to man a cannon on huge ship and take out moving objects, like fighter ships, missiles, etc. A basic target practice of sorts.. Then you have to bring down a huge battlecruiser which pretty much is a target practice for the bigger targets that can only be damaged by hitting weakpoints.
Now for combat, while its instanced, many areas are "open" in that when exiting from hyperspace(or whatever) you can find other players there. Some areas are friendly, some areas are outright wild west with ganking and non stop pvp.
Now for controls, it might take a while to master your ship and you might find yourself bumping into things if you did not play this kind of game for some time. After stopping to crash, remembering how to control your ship and so on it becomes quite fun, although you won't master it. Hiding behind objects, using them as cover, maneuvering in the asteroid field while engaging in player killing or being hunted by other players. Missions themselves, however feel VERY epic. If anyone watched the new battlestar galactice, they know what kind of "epicness" i am talking about.
Ship customization is also quite nice, there are different kinds of weapons, going from your usual pew pew to long term startrek-like lasers to guided-missiles. Other parts of ship are also important because they affect your maneuverability, speed, weight, ability to turn and so on. If you want to be tougher to damage, you will have to be slower and so on.
Overall while there are still some bugs, the game is very nice and it does not matter on if you are more into pvp or more into pve.
Anyway here's some of pvp videos:

Not true. As someone who is in beta for long time.
The game looks great. And i mean better than any other space game on PC.
And the ship controls are single word to describe them : PERFECT
Can you explore planets?
I had issues even getting the game to get past the training section i kept spawning as nothnig and could just fly around adn through things..
When i finally got the game running it was pretty good finished the training section then it crashed again and i aint had time to have another go..
Looks nice and controls feel ok
I would play Neocron 3 or 2.3, not that sh!t dT.Tb
err nercrom is a fps rpg right ? this is a space based game so nothing to compare..
'Neocron' was made by the same dev... I'd prefer a NC3 instead as well
heavily instanced = heavily no thanks

bugged as hell, I mean: this is beta? its hard to enjoy it, because there are bugs waiting for you on each corner, like missions not even starting, mission starting but the opponents are stuck, refusing to jump to another system and the list goes on
this game is awesome (I have been testing it for about 6 months) it has some bugs (but tel me which game is 100% bug free) but I can recommend this game to anyone, who likes space combat based mmo games
