Recruiting for Rift Pvp/Raid Guild

IzkimarIzkimar Member UncommonPosts: 568

We're in the process of creating a new Raid/PvP guild called Apache to go along with a new game in RIft. We already have people who want to invest in this new experience and bring together a group of highly skilled players who are ready jump into the game and hit the content. We are also ready to master the Warfronts, and engage in many open world skirmishes. Basically, we want to knit a closely knit group of highly effective group members who have a lot of experience and are ready to test the limits of this class system.

I like your enthusiasm. Why the name Apache though? I am part native american indian and think the name may overstep some boundries and might get smacked down by Devs post release if there are a few complaints. I myself am not sensative to this line of thinking but I know some people are.

I was a guild leader in two guilds over the course of my gaming life and I found that the name of your guild said alot about you. There are several factors going into the guild name you can consider such as

    1. What is the mission statement of your guild?

    2. Are you working a role play angle?

    3. Do you have a particular set of rules governing your guild mix that differs from others?

    4. Are you hardcore 6 plus hour a day raiders?

    5. Are you mainly focused on PvP?

    6. Are you crafters first..and everything else secondly?

    7. Are you shooting for a certain player age bracket?

    8. Are you looking for mostly casual players to join?

These are some of the questions you can ask yourself first when forming a guild to pick a name that best describes you. Once this is done you should try to mold your choices by letting future guildmembers know what the guild requirements or direction is so you can have a very solid foundation of core guildmates to select from.

Another thing to think about is the group and raid size this game says it will have at launch. From what I understand is there will be max 5 man groups and max 20 man raids. This size should dictate how many people you should work on being the core of your guild and expand from there. You basically want to have a core of 10 people as officers or whatever inner circle you want to call them. This way you will have officers available at several different times of the day to deligate and manage parts of the guild such as hiring, firing, group leadership, raid leadership, and other duties as they arrise.

As a part Native American myself, I too am not sensitive to the matter.  Well, what brought me to this name?  Hmm..  5 A.M.  flipping through the guild threads, all these names that have been done over and over again.  Apache popped into my head,  I thought it was a good quality name, because of the resolve these warriors had.  They fought against innumerable odds and won, their pure battle strategy allowed them to beat men with more technology available to them.  If they wouldn't have been betrayed by some of their own Apache men they could have kept winning.  Yes, I realize there is a lot in a name, and maybe this isn't the way to go if the community won't respond well.  I never thought that would be an issue.
