Would you quit if they make your MMORPG easier, partnering with EA or Activison?

As a counterpart to the "would you quit if they make your MMO harder" thread.

Personally its a cleary yes and also the reason I didn[object Window]t find a long lasting home in former games.

[object Window]

Everquest 2:

Huge expectations that things would turn out better over time but the game only became easier and easier with heavier patch. This compared with the unfinsihed product finally lead to my exist came DoF.

[object Window]

Vanguard:

Loved Beta 1 and 2 hated Beta 3 (dumbed down combat system, quest driven and altars for summoing your corpse). Hated the double double xp weekends and got fucked up when Sigil sold everything to SoE knowing, they would dumb down the game more and more. The so called game  updates showed exactly a stupid direction (rest xp, BoE/P on almost everything, removing the custom state system and stuff like that)...

[object Window]

Age of Conan:

Tortage has been fun and new the first time but still...felt more like a movie than an actual MMORPG. Combat system while new has been the epidome of button smashing and way to fast paced for an MMO, world felt tiny because everything was instanced and no real incentives, rewards for grouping.

[object Window]

World of Warcraft:

Like I mentioned times and times again, absolutely no point in dumbing down the easiest game outthere even more so what they did since patch 3 led to final exist and the thinking that Blizzard under Activision will never be again a company from gamers for gamers.

So yes if a game is getting dumbed down *easier*  as promised I am  giving the devs time to fix it (such with Aion) but not long. What about you?

We need a MMORPG Cataclysm asap, finish the dark age of MMORPGS now!

"Everything you're bitching about is wrong. People don't have the time to invest in corpse runs, impossible zones, or long winded quests. Sometimes, they just want to pop on and play."
"Then maybe MMORPGs aren't for you."

I would definitely NOT quit if a game thats super hard will be made easier.

I would definitely quit if a game that is already easy enough gets even easier, to the point of being boring.

I dont think I would quit if they make game a bit easier, and reason they are doing this is because they get even more playersand not less. we are living in a fast world now, and  vast majority of players (and those who wanna play) got 1 hour of spare time tops, and they wanna achive something big in that hour.

So ask yourself, does "any mmo company" wants 10 hardcore playes with 10$ sub monthly who spend 12 hours in game daily, or they rather go for 100 people who play 1 hour and still pay 10$.

Not playing any mmo games at the moment.  That should answer your question quite nicely.

No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-
