So, seriously looking for a MMO

Hey guys. I'm looking for a MMO in which I'll play when I'm not out, or in school, or playing my guitar.

I love games which invovle a bit more skill than luck, or money. I don't mind if they are browser based, as long as they aren't purely text games. I also don't mind if they are 2D (I actually preffer that). The thing is, I'd play Tibia or something, but my computer freezes when I do. It happens with some other games too, but not with CoD2, or HoMM V. That annoys me.

It shouldn't be P2P (of course, an optional premium account is good), no huge clients (as I'm not even sure if my computer will run it). They don't have to be super popular. I've thought about RuneScape (it doesn't crash), especially because Jagex is thinking of bringing the old wilderness and free trade back.

Any ideas? I've checked the stickies in this forum, but it didn't really help.

Well, I got 3 games for you, because they all involve player skill and do different things entirely - so you can fiddle with all 3 and pretty much waste the rest of your life as you know it. They are all Nexon games btw, so you'd only need one account.

    Dungeon Fighter

A 2d sidescrolling brawler, and it's hella fun. PvP can be tough without CS items, but as long as you can "juggle" an opponent without giving them a chance, or rely on hit/run tactics, you still can win most of the time.

    Vindictus

Great graphics, great physics and combat, pretty repetitive levels (like DFO above, but somewhat worse). There's no PvP as of yet, but the boss fights are the best I've seen in the entire genre, they make the game imo.

    Mabinogi

A sandbox-style game with interesting timing base combat that's similar to paper/rock/scissors. Tons of stuff to do, but it has to be one of the worst CS' imaginable. Serious about the CS, I usually don't complain about their tactics, but I totally do with this game. It's a gem of a game overall, but ffs the CS is just nuts. It's not overpowering or anything, it's just devious as all hell. If you get to lvl 30 you'll understand, because they lock half of your bank inventory until you buy a 30 day ticket to get it reopened, and if you had stuff in the locked space; say goodbye to it until you do. I'm surprised I still play it, that's a testament to how good the actual game is for me to overlook that s**t.

Thanks a lot for the reply, I'll check them out!

EDIT: Hmm, I don't think I can access these games (except for Mabinogi), as I'm from Europe.

Still looking for some suggestions! Oh, and the graphics don't have to be brilliant or something. :)

Oh, and I'd actually prefer if they are browser games.

    LOTRO and DDO.

I'd pick up DDO. Cash shop helps, but isn't necessary especially if you just want to play if casual for an hour or two here and there. It's not by any means super hardware intensive. As long as your computer isn't 6+ years old and has a discrete video card it should play it.
