LFgame with a few features

blackrainbowblackrainbow Member Posts: 26

Ok,  so let me start by saying that I am cuurently playing Battle of the Immortals, Grand Fantasia, LOTRO(downloading atm), and Runes of magic.  In the past I played WoW(3 years), Atlantica Online(~8 months), and cough cough, Runescape( 3 years).

I loved em all, thought they were, or are great.  Im looking for either a new game, or a game I am currently playing to focus on.

The most important feature is it has to be free.  This is an absolute must.  Item shops don't bother me(unless there are spammers and botters advertising.

The next biggest feature is crafting.  I havent hit crafting in BOI yet, Grand Fantasia is kinda neat so far with the sprite crafting for you while you play, but I dont like being limited to how much i can harvest or craft at any given time.  For example I could only get a certain amount of ore at a time, and I had to pay for it.  That's why I like crafting, for money and making my own items.  Atlantica and Runescape did a great job though, with the fact that you can craft every item you want, as long as you put in the effort.  The rest of those games pushed me away(combat in AO was boring, and RS just sucked everywhere else).  So far WoW, has the best interface( it shows only what you need to know, nothing less, nothing more).

Soloing - I have to be able to play the game by myself.  I work nights, so that means i play nights as well.  BOI servers say they are crowded or full, but really are just empty or have people way above my level, or that speak a different language.  BOI also requires parties with a specific amount of people, or with certain quests activated, to enter dungeons.  WoW had a decent amount of people to play with, but was also full of jerks.  What I'm saying, is I like the option of soloing the game when i want to.  If I die because I was ill-prepared or went too far in, that's my fault alone.

Grind--- I love the grind, that's why I play games. Go from A to B andd kill every mob on the way for loot, or hit every resource node for crafting items.   I'm a loot fiend, I love getting back to a city and selling trash, and dropping gear on the auction house.

Classes - Im a hunter/ranger/scout, whatever.   Im not into melee or magic.  RoM was tedious with the secondary class, BOI didn't have a ranged class, unless it was hidden.   RS was nice, where you have no class, just choose your weapon and armor.

Graphics-- no limitations.  I can play Crysis at Ultra and get 50+ FPS.

Combat - point and click click click click-no. i like selecting a mob and then going through my rotation.  I hate having to follow the mob with my mouse to keep attacking.

I dont really care how the game plays.  Whether Im behind my guy, above, makes no diff.   However, I did play fallen earth and found it to be clunky and somewhat unresponsive.  what i do care about, is that it's not a browser game.  yeah runescape was fun, but I cant stand Facebook-type games.  They feel cheap and unpolished.

Any game suggestions would be great.  I have a habit of trying one game, then the next, and so on.   there is a chance that a good game is one I just haven't given much of my time to.

WURM looks extremely boring.  not saying it's a bad game,  it just looks really clunky and boring.  Is there any end-game? Instances?

well you mentioned you like to craft and you wanted a f2p game, no there are no instances, no end game this is not world of warcraft... try it out since it's free than post your thoughts.

just small advise: avoid RoM, or leave it when got maximum level, as your end game gear totally depends on item shop (now many will tell you can farm a lot, but it looong story beside you'll never be able to get to good level dungeon without said gear, so end of story), for more information just look RoM forum here.

try before buy, even if it's a game to avoid bad surprises.
Worst surprises for me: Aion, GW2
