Subject says it all really, my wife and I are after another good MMORPG to Duo on. We have played EQ2 for years, and have really really enjoyed it, but have bascially played it to its end as far as Duoing goes. Neither of us are big group lovers, far preferring to stick to our own game.
Guild Wars 2 looks interesting, and we may well just wait for it, but I am very open for suggestions. I was looking at Final Fantasy XI and XIV, but the reviews on XI say solo / duo content runs out at about Level 20, and XIV, at the moment, looks quite bad.
Neither of us will ever play PvP. Fantasy or good Sc Fi are both an option.
The missus has never played FPS (her loss really)
Thanks in advance

Check out Lord of the Rings Online. The solo/duo content is solid throughout, and the switch to F2P/P2P has made it painless to try out. It's kept me interested for over three years.
Honestly, almost any MMO from the last few years would be good for soloing and duoing. Might want to give Lord of the Rings Online a try.

yes and you have a rich world to explore together you could try DDO as well but thats more of a party game you could play wow (I dont like the game any more but some people love it obviously). Id go with Lotro because thats what me and my gf will be getting into that or eq2.
If your going to ban the trolls please for our sake ban the Fan Boys too.
Thanks for the replies all
I'm going to give Lord of the Rings online a go, and have a muck around with DDO too.
For the record, EQ2 is brilliant, and has kept my wife and I entertained for years now, we simply ran out of things the two of us were capable of doing, short of joining a high end US guild and raiding heaps, which we simply aren't in to. We love questing, especially nice long questlines in zones.
Cheers
FFXIV has some solo but like you said its not that good I only play it because its free. FFXI is definitely not solo or duo
Guild Wars, cheap, good PVE with storyline, Duo + hench grouping, interesting classes, no cash shop requirements, runs well on mid-range systems.
I've been tempted by Guild Wars 1. It looks ok. Might give the trial a run. It is very cheap, that's for sure
Couple buddies of mine and me are in between games now (been that way for like 10 months since Aion). We were playing League of Legends pretty hardcore but recently switched to LOTRO. Game is pretty awesome and with a VIP for 10 bucks a month it's pretty awesome considering what you get. Money well spent in my book. Probably heading over to SWTOR, GW2, and Diablo 3 when they come out, but this is a nice filler.
Right now i would go with Vanguard although lotro is good, i really think it's boring as hell and easy mode all the way to level 65.
Download this http://vanguard.station.sony.com/isleofdawn/
Join the Telon server even if you are European, this server is alive and kicking.
For duo i would go with Dread Knight and perhaps a Bloodmage or a Shaman or you could go with cleric(they wear plate armour).
Four healers in Vanguard are
Bloodmage http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/59452
Shaman http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/59414 I have a Tuurgin(bear pet) Shammy which has the tanking pet and great buffs for tank classes.
Cleric http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/59454
Disciple http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/59436 I also have a disciple, this is IMO the best solo class in the game,he really rocks.
Fake death FTW.
Then choose a tank class and you are good to go.
Think i'll give vanguard a try when I get my new vid card/pc. been looking for a new mmo to play and I am sick to death of ezmode games like Wow, lotro etc.
"An MMORPG could be completely diffirent from WoW. Just look at games like Dofus, Wizard101 or EVE. But as it is, most of the Western MMOs are trying to succeed by out-WoWing WoW. It's like an army of 10 sports games made about same sports, and barely none about other sports. WoW clone is an accurate description of those games, it manages to convey much information with only two words."
