what mmo games have alot pf RPing out there?

i am looking for a good rp game i can get into. right know i play vanguard and there is next to none RPers there. the guild that does do it i dont htink they come on anymore.
anyone have a idea?

You might narrow your search a bit by giving the type(s) of game you're most interested in RPing in; fantasy, sci-fi, what have you. You'll also often find that, in MMOs that run on multiple servers, specific servers are often considered as "RP servers" by the player community.
For example, in City of Heroes, Virtue sever is essentially the de facto RP server, although some RP occurs on other servers. The group I play with on Justice server RPs fairly often, though it's pretty casual.
I've also found quite a bit of RP in Star Trek Online, naturally. Only one server there.
The Landroval server in LOTRO is the game's unofficial RP server. You may wish to check it out when LotRO goes f2p.

Ah thanks! Was gonna mention LotRO to the OP as well... but I don't play any more, and didn't RP there, so I couldn't remember which server it was!
As much as I would love to say "Age of Conan" I sadly have to be honest that the RP communities there are shrinking further and further.
My best guess would indeed be LOTRO if you don't mind the RP style there. Sadly there haven't been exactly many games that have drawn a healthy RP community. For me the hope for serious and fun RP in MMOs will depend on the turnout of SW:ToR and maybe GW2 that MIGHT allow a nice RP community to form again and hopefully also last longer than 1-6 months.
Landroval LOTRO as well. Also some decent RP on Fallen Earth if you find the right people, but Landroval you will see it happening in front of you even if you are not looking for it.

Everquest 2 probably has the most roleplay community of any game I've actively played. Following that runes of magic on govinda has several guilds, final fantasy has a few scattered around, everquest 1 has some, i've not seen many in wow, period.

You could always try one of the many free 2 play mmorpg games out there.
Even if you don't end up liking the game you won't waste any money that way.

Honestly out of all the MMO's i've tried Anarchy-Online is unrivaled with its roleplaying capabilities. As discussed in the thread linked above.

I think world of warcraft got a lot of rp servers, but if you got the time to wait a long time, then wait on guild wars 2 xD i hope it should be a good rp game.
RP? You should try some pen&paper games (they work without any PC): the dark eye, AD&D, Shadowrun... if you really wanna try RP these are much better than any computer game could be...
The european server for Lotro, Laurelin is a good haunt for roleplayers.
