General: Holiday Boredom Massacre

MMORPG.com's Adam Janovyak is trapped in the back seat of the family vehicle on his way home from holiday celebrations. Problem is that he's got no portable gaming system to keep him busy. What he -does- have is his iPhone and he's found a couple of things to occupy a few minutes of the tedious drive. Unfortunately for me I don’t own any sort of portable gaming system I can lose myself in, nor do I have a laptop that I can entertain myself with. I do however own a decent smart phone and I was lucky enough to find a few apps that were capable of smashing up the monotony of a long holiday trip. “Did these apps have something to do with MMO’s?” you may be asking, to which I would happily answer “Of course they do, why else would we be here?”

This is why those Facebook games are so successful - anyone can play them and their not complicated enough to make you think. However, that's also why I get tired of playing them after half an hour and never log in again. They're all the same with different art assets and maybe a wrinkle or two.
So far, every game I've found has been just OK. I can't play some of them for 10 minutes before I delete. A very few will entertain me for more than one day. There's a reason the games usually are less than 1 dollar.
That's so true battleaxe! I've tried so many MMORPGs and most of them are JUST ok. I can't find one that keeps me hooked like a heroine addict on crack. LOTRO went F2P and it's fun. But people are usually looking to play solo which sucks.
