Yeah I'm very much looking forward to it but remember much like Project Entropia theres no monthly charge but the company is in business to make money so dont count on playing it for nothing.

some of the heads of the project keep the fanbase updated in the forums a couple times an hour. i seriously doubt they are in it for the money. this is probably one of the few who arent in it for the money though.

plus theres a program where you can donate money and get ingame money for it. dont worry though, there is a limit to how much you can donate a month.

Most absolutely false. Here is the quote from the Roma Victor site:

It is clear that we wish to avoid the subscription model used by so many other MMORPG's. Roma Victor® must nevertheless bring in enough revenue to pay for the not inconsiderable expenses of hosting its game and web servers, not to mention the need to recoup RedBedlam's own modest levels of private investment. In order to continue to develop, improve and expand the game service, the service itself must, at the very least, break even. In order to ensure stability, quality and longevity, the service must in fact be profitable.

Please pay close attention to the fact that they are expecting to turn a profit, not merely break even. That would imply they are "in it for the money". though certainly they have more motivations than that alone. I see no fault in that in any way.

They need to turn a profit to keep things running, thats life...

I dont know...The graphics are just so ugly..The land looks so plain and uninspired. The world just looks very bland and unappealing to me. Some of the features of the game sound very cool but regardless graphics are there for a reason and roma victors world and characters look very dull.

I've been waiting for the game for 2-years now & am desperate to get into the test ::::29::

On the graphics issue the dev team have said ground effects are still to be added and the lighting improved and a lot of the real eye-candy will be added during the final stages. However, I think it's worth pointing out that the screens are taken from in-game and they don't photoshop them - rare in this industry.

And *of course* they have to make money to maintain the game, but I think there will be players who'll make it through without having to pay for in-game currency.

I think this game can/could've be(en) good. I had a look at the screenshots though, and the graphics look very dull to me. The terrain/world looks terribly empty as well. I don't know if they're going to change this before it's released, but if they don't, I'm definately not going to play it...

I am however afraid that this game will lure in the occasional 13 and 14 year olds who are going to stand around screaming in the middle of Londoninium "HELP ME PLZZZZZZZZZ PLZZZ MONEY PLZZZ U SUXX IF U DONT"

They won't be playing for long though unless anybody feeds them money, which is good.

If the gameplay and especially the PVP is good, who cares about the graphics.

I still play UO for this very reason, graphics in the 2d client are crap..but the gameplay/pvp is still phenominal.

Besides, I think wow has proven beyond any doubt that, graphics do not make the game. The graphics in that game are anything but stellar and it has a massive player base. Do not get me wrong, I play EQ2 as well and I play because I enjoy the eye candy of some of the best graphics the industry has to offer outside a few areas I have previously mentioned. but graphics are not and never will be the determining factor of a good game.
