Which class do you suggest?

I tried WoW out a couple months ago but didn't give it a fair chance and basically hated playing solo. My girl and I are going to be trying this again and it looks like we're going night elves on Elune.

However, there is a lot to consider when choosing a class. I'm curious if there is a decent breakdown of them somewhere (other than the WoW site which is horribly slow).

We will duo a lot and while we typically both play support roles I think we'll both want to be self sufficient.

    Take a look at Allakhazam.com.

Hunter is a pretty self-sufficient class due to having pets.

Try this site.  The breakdown is pretty good.

Paladins, warriors, hunters, rouges are all good at soloing.

I've seen Rouges solo through elite dungeons...Insane!!

Hunter + priest might be a good combo for you two.

The added bonus is, at the late levels. Hunters can't buy their way into groups. Priests have to turn down offers. Your priest can say, I'm not coming unless my hunter comes too!

Many many thanks all - I'll check out that site and the info about hunters/priests in the late game is the kind of thing I am also interested in :)

We're both big time gamers so I fully expect to get up in to those higher levels so want to be useful as well to teams I am in ;)

I play 2 characters atm i have a 47 Priest and a 48 warrior. If your looking to get groups definetly the way to go is a healer, but if you want solo a rogue would be best but if you want a little bit of both a paladin does that pretty good. But Druids also do a good support they are more of an all around class

We are coming from City of Heroes where I am an empath defender (healer basically) and she a controller...

I have created 5 characters all different classes and i think a warrior and preist r a good combo, but this is for a mainly solo character so u decide.

I was going to mention rogue, but I was thinking of something along the lines of duoing. Rogues definitely seem to be the most fun class to play (PvP) and you can level them very fast.

Except everyone and their mother plays a rogue, so later down the road getting gear, groups, etc will be more work.

If you're going to be duoing alot, I'd say Priest/Hunter, or even Druid/Hunter. Either is pretty good in the self sufficiency department. Or Shaman if you change your mind and go Horde.
Warriors are fun to play as well, but I think Hunters are more interesting, personally. Paladin would be a viable option as well, though their damage output is less than stellar compared to the other melee classes. Plus, dwarves look cooler than night elves, and don't have those godawful ears ::::02::

Hunters are a real fun class and at lvl 40 you can wear mail which is nice. (Hunters start with leather). Plus you get pets which you can name and lvl, and thats always fun. If you two are going to play at the same time in most cases I would agree with everyone else, one of you should be a healer type. Druids are fun because you can change into different animals to go into tank mode. Ive never played a priest but they have mind control at higher lvls which is really cool, you can take control of a mob and make it attack its allies. Hope that helps a little.

I would say Druid/Priest/Mage/Warrior all of these class has very little bugs and seems to be on Blizzards A list... While Hunter would be on the other side and has recieved more stealth nerfs(AS damage/FD resist/DPS) and has more bugs(AS/ Pet run speed/Pet damge/ see hunter forums for the whole page long list).

Hunter and rogues really have no place in ingame instances, what I mean by that is that its alot harder for them to get  groups while Druids/Priest/Mages/Warriors/Hell any other class but those two find groups with ease and are in high damand for what they can bring to the group.

You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith

Whatever class you pick, go Horde, there are already too many Alliance players, though it does give me more people to kill ::::40::

Every class can solo.  Some better than others.  It is more what you like to play.  Me and my wife both play.  Have been for like 4 years now.  We tried all kinds of combos, but never allience image.  We liked the shaman druid combo for pve and we liked the druid and rogue combo for pvp.  Makes it interesting with both can stealth.  1 dps and other healer/ crowd control. You dont want to play a class that you get bored of to.  So in the end choose what you both like then and have fun image

WoW is really a great game! They have a Fantastic graphic design..I am really amazed to their graphic designs..In terms of duo, you could try the Paladin class, i think that is the best for both of you..

    Rogue + Rogue = ownage.

But not for the big instances, but the basic run of the mill quests will go by like nuttin.

Only main prob is that you both will use the uber loot.....

Best thing is for her to go the subtely route in talents, and you go combat so you can tank and she can damage

Best way is to create a character of each classes. I've started with a Hunter, quite a good choice because of the pet image, its depends the way you want to play.

    healer + tank

all you need is rogues to finish up your instance team and they are dime a dozen (50% of total population is rogue)
