Recently I've lost a lot of the time I had to play MMO's (now only having about 10 or so hours a week to play). For this reason I've been sticking with WoW lately, but I've wanted to give MxO a go for quite some time now.
However, would it be worth it considering I wouldn't be able to play much? I've heard the game is very guild-oriented (can't remember what guilds are called in MxO), so would playing 10 hours a week hurt my chances of becoming a part of the community or rp aspects of the game? I don't really want to play it solo constantly if that's all I would have time for.
Thanks in advance.

Thats a toughie. It takes a LOT of time to level. this isnt a WoW grind, at all. so you wll be behind, but that doesnt mean you cant RP. just join a heavy RP'ing guild. they will get you into events and such. If you belive in the ways of the machines and want to play on Line noise, come and see if you can join ARMA MOLEIS.
Thanks for the response, jackman. I'm not really that concerned about levelling slow--that I can deal with and accept. I'd be playing more for the RP and story more than anything else. Just so long as I would have a good chance of partaking in the story of the game, I'd be satisfied.

Thanks for the replies. I'll probably be giving it a go later this month once my WoW sub runs it's course.
Linenoise it is, then.
I was able to level cap (50) my character in 4 weeks, only playing 2-3 hours a day on weekdays and 5-8 hours on weekend days. I think the game and xp gain are too easy and I think the repetitive city scapes and missions, though holding true to the Matrix'es feel of things, make for boring gameplay.
The style and flare make the game exciting and the graphics and lag are not bad at all. It has some bugs, but they have been doing a good job of release proper and prompt fixes. I wouldn't recomend anyone buy it, but if you can try it for free for a few days or know someone who plays, ask them if you can create a new character and give it a try.

Maybe if you exploited.
wow ...I have never heard of that before. Dont listen to him, hes doing something he shouldnt be if hes leveling that fast. I have been playing for a awhile now and I still havent capped 50 and I play more than you, however I do alot of stuff besides level. The game is boring to you because your just trying to cap your character. All MMOs are boring if you play like that.

I didn't exploit. All you have to do is log in a look around. The server I play on has ~32 level 50s at last count. Spy/Courier missions pre patch was all you had to grind and you could 1 lvl per hour until about 27, then it went up a bit. 49-50 took 3 hours.
If you are power leveling with large groups, using speed clothes, and speed buffs, you can plow through missions very fast. And since the missions are very repetitive, there is no other way to do them and keep your sanity.
They really owned the leveling system after the first month. the reason people leveled so fast was if you ran missions with a level 50, you would get the same mission reward (xp and info) as a level 50 would. now it has a cutoff point where your max exp for a mission will be about 50k more than soloing.
thats why you could hit high levels fast in the game. you cant do it now without playing a lot. it takes me over 50 missions from 28-29, which you cant run in a hour. (it takes about 6 minutes per mission. do the math.)
Well I wish they would of changed the leveling system right from the start. I wasn't trying to be "super grinder hit level cap super fast man" it just worked out the way cause of how they had missions setup. Now, I just log in, "Any events?" no, ok, I'll go farm red frags for an hour and then log out.
I never said I didn't like the game, I would give it a 7.4 Overall, they just need something to do once you hit level 50 instead of kill the same people and farm the same frags.
