That aside, the invasions might not be that frequent at launch, since the devs might just be cranking up the same-spot local frequencey for beta; not sure though.
Invasion is a big part of the all rift feature, without them it would be useless, rift would be just a nice spawn and nothing else. But if they bother you during the quests or whatever, just pay attention to the loud horn noise when they aproach and avoid them, that's it. I personaly like them, they are the challenging part of all this.
you mean the whole zone?, as when I was the only one in the area a gang of elites was still charging at me.
So your saying that when you are the only one in the area they stop being a mob of 5/10 elites running at me and turn into 2/3 notmal mobs?
Obviously, the game just isn't for you. You'll have to go elsewhere to find a game without any kind of challenge or difficulty.
This game is even more easy than wow.
BS. Sorry, but it is.
This game has no challenge watsoever, Rifts and Invasion are just a Zerg job (mindless DPS) and the questing is just tedious.
I wont disagree that the questing is average, or that the rifts themselves are just a zerg pissing contest, but to say the game offers no challange is just false.
People die, a lot, from regular questing (mainly due to the density of the mobs and the easy adds), and IT has chewed up more then half the groups I have experienced going through it.
This is going to entertain people fo a couple of months, then the majority of people will move on
I wont disgaree either that it has, at this time from the looks of things, 1-3 months of play time in it, but then thats the nature of building a themepark MMO... content is king and it's finite.
I am definitily on board for those 1-3 months though.
This game is not easy, I had my butt handed to me many times. This game might not be for you but I love all of it and I never really felt like I was grinding , It was nice for once.
Has got to be the invasions, imho. They are pointless and horrible. Everytime I am walking along a path trying to mind my own business or if I am settled in an outpost selling my wares, all of a sudden, out of nowhere, I have elites in groups running at me after my blood.
After a few times this gets very frustrating, especially when there is no one around to kill them. The rifts themselfs are very fun and rewarding but the invasions are what wreck the game for me. I find them pointless and irritating.
Go play Lego Online then! The Rifts and Invasions are the BEST!!!! The dynamic/random content is the wave of the future! Perhaps instead of hiding underneath a tavern table you should run headlong into battle, defeat the invasion and then go back to your selling (which takes what 5 seconds and a couple mouse clicks?).

I have to agree with you. Even when it's possible for me to solo the invasion events, sometimes I just want to turn in my darn quests and log out without having to fight through three waves of similarly themed monsters.

Wow what a lame way to try and discredit an actual potential problem in the game. If it scales then no big deal, but 6 months down the road if hardly anyone is in a zone and what he describes happens, that has nothing to do with difficulty or challenge.
Regarding difficulty, I will also say that I died more in the first 10 levels than I can recall in the first 10 levels of 80% of other mmo's I've played, that's for sure.
In beta you might be able to choose which servers to play on and the localization is not yet in but what happens in beta does not necessarily mean that when the game launches they will allow the US and European players play on the same servers. This has happened in other games too they usually change their mind when distribution and other factors weigh in.

It's not a bad game, just very plain and uninspiring.
This is exactly the case.

This game is a yawn at best. Same games with new graphics aren't worth standard market price.
