Approximatly how long this game has been in production?
What's the estimated size of the developer team in charge of the game as well as the budget cost for making DCUO?
SOE doesn't offer paypal payment option? Credit card is only avaliable payment option?
I was unable to post on the DCUO forums? Are only beta accepted players allowed to post?
I heard a massive, 30GB of download will require if I plan to purchase a Digital Download of the game. Is this true?
How long the game has been under testing/beta, etc?
Any notable developers from previous popular MMORPG's that are working for DCUO?
Comments
Sorry all i can answer from experience is this one.. and no you cant post on there till you have some kind of subscription on SOE... not sure if its DCUO or any game.
42.
I can answer a few of your questions,
1. you need an active station account to post on the forums
2. the download size is pretty large, mine is currently sitting at 16.7 gigs
3. SoE doesn’t have a pay pal option, or I’ve never been able to find it.
4. The game has been in beta for 3 months that I know of.
DCUO may not offer Paypal now
but at least 2 other SOE games, EQ2 and Free Realms take Paypal
wouldnt suprise me if DCUO eventually does too
EQ2 fan sites
The game looks good, so that huge download I'm sure is graphics files and bloated code. It sure isn't full of fun or content!
Eh? well its only like 90% of people who have played it say that it's fun.
He's just another hater with nothing to back it up. Don't let it bother you.
I have to agree here. This has been one of the first beta's I've been a part of where the general feedback was predominantly positive across the board, apart from some technical annoyancies which have been corrected during Beta itself by SOE.
To each his own I suppose. <shrug>
Concerning your questions :
I've heard the game has been in development for about 4-5 years, although how much time of this was "plannin stages" I don't know.
Download size should be around 16-17 Gb
Paypal isn't implemented yet, but should be soontm
As to the size of the dev team or any 'famous' devs, I have no idea. I played the beta for 2 moths and had more fun than my latest 4 mmo's combined, and that's all I care about
You enjoyed it that much? That's awesome because I am in limbo atm, trying to find a game to keep me interested until SW:TOR comes around, I am happy that this game is enjoyable because I have pre ordered and I am looking forward to playing .
Personally, yes, I did.
It's also the only MMO in a very long time I've actually pre-ordered, apart from WoW.
Judging by the feedback on the beta boards, the majority of people thought it was pretty awesome as well.
That being said though, I will readily admit this game might not be for everyone. It's not entirely like a "standard" MMO, such as WoW or, looking at various in-game footage, SWToR.
It plays more action-like and faster. Kinda like a cross between Guild Wars and God of War. To some people (myself included) this was very refreshing. Especially the PvP aspect worked very well. It's a lot deeper than you'd expect at first. Hell, I almost beat a lvl 17 ganker with a low lvl 7 character (I said almost, I'm not THAT good But I can imagine this to be off-putting to some people who prefer a slower, more conventional playstyle to their MMO's.
As I said : to each his own. But for me, I can't wait to be able to play again.
Well I happen to see your point, This game seems like an action based console game, however -with- many unique MMO features, which is awesome. No, I also agree that it will not appeal to everyone, It's frankly not supposed to appeal to people who appreciate the, (i will call it) D&D system over all others, which we have become so familiar with, and this, personally I welcome.
A change is nice - an action mmo is great, there actually needs to be more, far more in the market. I feel that many communitys are moving away from WoW's (as an example) combat system and are moving more towards a more direct, action oriented console-esque gaming experience, which actually is nothing to complain about, depending who you speak to, and depending what their level of time spent in such MMO's and exprience with, basically, their level of boredom with such rulesets.
For me this will be a refreshing experience, because I am a console gamer and a PC gamer and this just fits both worlds superbly, I commend SOE for what they have done on this game so far and I will finish by saying that I am looking forward to receiving my copy and jumping in to the world of DC - I have never had such a well fleshed out chance before to relive the moments of my favourite comic book heroes in such a way before.
I welcome that.
I agree completely with you Eerazer, I feel the same way.
In case you're getting the game on PS3 and plan on playing a PvP server, feel free to add me on psn : " Nocturne-D "
I'd be more than willing to give you a hand or just hang out on your first venture into the DCUO universe.
That would be great, I thank you for your kind offer, but unfortunately, I have chosen to purchase the PC version of the game.
