I am tired of WoW and need to move on. I left EQ for WoW and I find myself missing EQ1 terribly but the game is now a shell of its former self due to the new MMORPG's on the market. I am considering switching over to EQ2 in hopes of finding that same magical environment I found in EQ1 that made it more than a game.... almost a second home! I am in serious need of a system upgrade but we are literally living from paycheck to paycheck and I cannot afford to upgrade at all for now. Here is my current system
Pentium III 900 Mhz
512 MB PC133 DDR RAM
Nvidia GeForce4 FX 5200 Video Card (128 MB)
ALS 4000 PCI Sound Card
SATA 120 GB Hard Drive
I know that this machine does not meet the system requirements, but with game setting set to low, would it be enough? Thanks for your time!

nope, won't run in the first place. sorry = your processor is 100Mhz short of the requirment, besides that you could actually run the game at lower settings with minimal lag.
Schutzbar - Human Warrior - Windrunner Alliance - World of Warcraft
Nihilanth - Kerra Paladin - Blackburrow - EverQuest II
XBL Gamertag - Eagle15GT
if you got a faster processor then it wud run pretty well on lowest settings :P i've run the game on medium with a
amd xp 3000
geforce 5200 256mb
512mb ram
That was back when i broke my pc tho and had to borrow a crappy one
Oh wow! So it will not even let you try to play the game if you do not meet the minimum requirements eh? That is disheartening to hear.
well, you MAY be able to run it with a 900MHz processor. i've seen people run the game with 256megs of RAM even though the minimum requirements are 512......all i can say is that it won't be pretty.

The only hardware that I have seen that they cut you off and don't let you play is Graphics cards without a pixel shader. If you can't do Pixel Shading in hardware (ie: DX8 or better), then you can't play.
Your video card will work. As a forinstance: MX versions of the Geforce 4 series are actually GeForce 2 cores, and will not run the game.
That's ok by me though, because no one with a clue bought an MX card anyway.

Best suggestion yet. I keep forgetting about that. Trial is the way to go man!! If that runs, the game runs. Period.

Agreed maybe he could run the isle on medium but no way at high wth those specs-fx5200,athlon 1.8
My second computer is an athlon 2500,1gb,R9800pro which is much better then a fx5200,512ram,athlon 1.8 and it can only run at medium in combat without dragging.
I can run the game at a constant 40fps at medium/high settings with my stats:
3.2Ghz Pentium 4 HT
1GB PC3200 RAM
128MB ATI RADEON 9600XT
But I'd say as long as you have a 1.8Ghz or higher processor and a 128meg video card the biggest difference in preformance will come from more RAM,
