Hello my fine MMORPG.com folks. No I'm not rushing some pay for beta game to market! In fact I've actually taken a break from gaming the last year in order to get my new project off the ground. I've started a small film production company. We're focusing on low budget productions (because we're poor) that we've created and written. Needless to say it's quite expensive to get a production company off the ground. Cameras, software, sound, lighting, locations and talent all cost oodles of cash.
We're about to start production on our first project. It's a project that I myself have created. It's a web series (hopefully a tv series) called Astro Zombies. It's about a 3 piece punk band that is attacked by zombies from outter space. They get infected while fending off the attack but they're so high when they get bit that their brains are protected. This means that most of the time they are perfectly normal people (apart from the rotting flesh) except when they get stoned. Have you any idea what it's like to be an Astro Zombie and have the munchies?? Well it doesn't bode well for any brain carriers nearby that's for sure!
Astro Zombies is my salute to Britcom. Think: The young ones, IT crowd, Red Dwarf all rolled up with a touch of The Monkees just for laughs. It's not politically correct. There's mucho dope smokage. We'll probably offend every race, creed and religion on the planet. We don't care. The point is too laugh at everyone.
In case you didn't guess I spent a large portion of my youth smoking weed, watching britcom and listening/playing Misfits tunes.

Even if you don't feel like a contribution if you like the concept please spread the link to as many of your friends as possible. Crowd sourcing only works if the crowd sees it.
We expect to start production on the series in April. The first season has been written. Production equipment has been purchased. All we need now is talent and crew. If you're in the Kansas City area and your interested in an acting part or working on the crew feel free to message me.

Zombies from outer space? Really?
Talk of a butchering of the genre!
Have zombies suddenly gained intelligence to build a hyper drive and embark across the galaxy to eat where no alien has eaten before?
A more "realistic" *snort* approach would be aliens infected and crash landing....or, better yet, and more relating to the story, an irradiated alien ameoba/spore/etc frozen on a meteorite crashes into someone's weed farm and attaches to a weed plant and the infection occurs because someone blazes up and inhales in the spec after buying the infected weed.
Back in the 50's there were many a Zombie from Outter space serial that played at drive ins. It's a genre that has gone by the wayside and this is my little nod to that history. We're not aiming for realistic. This is absurdist comedy. Three stooges, Benny Hill, The Young Ones.
It's a seriously funny show if you're into the stoner and britcom humor. We've had 20-30 people read the scripts and we've had very positive feedback.
How about aliens that arrived on earth in the middle of a zombie apocalypse like dawn of the dead or 28 days later,beamed up some infected for probing and somehow were infected and in their insanity flew back to their mothership were the infection spread and became a alien zombie apocalypse
Actually I think most of the 50's Astro Zombie movies involved a mad martian scientist that created zombie soldiers to destroy the inhabitants of Earth. That's kind of where I started with it. The 2 Astro Zombies that attack the band just landed 60 years late.
When they do "go zombie" they are spastic 28 days type of zombies. Not the slow ones.
Obviously, somebody has never seen Firefly or Serenity. Not only does it have zombies in outer space, it has cowboys in outer space too.

Yup, some random pothead wants you to send him money for some laughable idea. To the OP, take a business class or something for god's sake. Sadly they don't have classes in basic common sense, but try to see if you can find one anyway.
LOL no I'm no random pothead. You're not sending me money. You're contributing to a production. A VERY FUNNY production. If i do say so myself. I'd love to just post the scripts and let you all read them and see what it's all about but obviously that would ruin the experience. I have 2x what I've set as the fund raising goal already invested in this series. It's a comedy. Don't take things so serious. It's about weed, punk rock and zombies. How could it be taken too seriously. Jesus lighten up man.

We've also written 2 feature scripts (both zombie movies) and a steam punk/sci fi. And really if that one girl thinks I'm not being true to the zombie genre wait til she sees our steam punk sci fi haha.
Look I'm an artist. Well actually I'm a manager in a large financial services corporation, but I'm also an artist who takes his writing and production very seriously. The sad fact is that in Hollywood it doesn't matter how good you are, it matters who you know. I, like 99.9% of the people on this site, don't know the right people. So how do you get your vision out there if you don't know the right people? You do it yourself. I'm a card carrying member of the Kansas City Independent Film Coalition. I volunteer my time and skills to others who also make films and web series. I'm also a hardcore gamer. I've been a member of this site for years. I'm not here to screw anyone or take their money and spend it on weed. The show is about dope smoking punk rockers who get turned into zombies. Enjoy it for what it is. Give if you want. Don't give if you want. Just don't think that I'm some random pothead LOL.
Oh and hey thanks for checking out the indigogo site. Even if you don't like the concept i appreciate you looking. I also hope you'll take the time to watch the Pilot, at least, when the series is produced. And don't take that graphic too seriously. We're still waiting for our graphic artist to get our art back to us. That's just something my partner whipped up last night to put on indiegogo. We're not that type of artist obviously!
We'll be adding some merchandise perks to the contribution levels within the next month or so. Nothing major, just things like coffee mugs, mousepads and maybe USB drives with our productioin company logo on it.
