Apparently this site's genius authorization service hates my Austrian phone number, so I'll have to hold off on this game until it's for sale on steam or sth.

Nope. The whole point of this procedure is that the system calls you and gives you a PIN, so you can enter it on their site and proceed with the order.
I don't really get how that's supposed make anything more secure, since regardless of whether or not I am the true card holder, all I have to do is answer the freaking phone. But maybe I'm too short-sighted to grasp the genius of this batshit insane procedure.
