a friend of mine is going to start playing COH next week and i would like to help him level up quickly so we can play together.
since ive never powerleveled anyone and all my heroes were created with my own sweat and blood, i dont really know how powerleveling in COH works. can anyone tell me the best way to pl?

um, what's wrong with sidekick or exemplar.
Think about it, you powerlevel him and he misses all the content. If you sidekick, then you can still play together, he'll have the toughness and power of a character 1 level below you and if you kill an even con mob, it treats his xp as though he killed a mob 1 level above his current level.
Trust me, if you want to keep yoru friend in the game, powerlevel is not the way to go. If things went south while you SK you buddy, you can always exemplar down, do some of his missions to burn off your own debt.
Get a bunch of friends together, SK him and have fun....or roll an alt and level up with him.
You stated you earned your levels with your own sweat and blood. You know the strenghts and weakness of your character. Don't make your friend a Winter Lord orphen.
your arguement is so persuasive, so filled with knowledge and insight. You back up your argument very articulately, with suggestions of improvements and raising examples to glorify your position....oh wait, you didn't
I must in many ways agree with sanctus, but i feel an answer is deserved anyways.. if you want to pl a char/friend whatever the best missions to do so is a train mish/portal mish or large story arc end mish.
Get a 8 player team, or up 2 6 is good also, make sure u have a good taunting tank, pref a fire one that can burn, let him run around alone or with an AoE based blaster ( fire/fire baby) and herd and kill large groups of badguys 4 the best and fastest xp. Dont finish the mish, that meens get glowies or kill the designated boss or anything, just clear out the rest then exit the mish and start over..
The people not running with tank (and maybe blaster) can stand and wait at the mish entrance or whatever with their sidekicks and harvest the xp, this way u lvl fast and easy, its not really that effective untill u reach a lvl 30-32+, thats the teams lvl not the one ur powerleveling off course.. And remmeber the more people at team the more spawns and the more xp..
But b warned, i pl'ed 1 char to about lvl 26 and then i decided to stop and start playing him i realised i didnt have any real connection with the char and i dropped it after that, but 4 those o you that want to do it sure, what ever makes u enjoy playing the game..
Have fun and good hunting, hope this helped a little bit

Do like Sanctus said. A SK directly to you is much funnier then PL.
If for any reason you still want to Powerlevel your friend...find a ''Bridge'' who will SK your friend and let the bridge + friend wait at zone in while you clear the stuff with the group...but that is boring. (A bridge is someone who is many level lower then the group but still receive XP, and his SK as well still receive XP...so exemple, in a group of level 50, you find a level 45, make him SK your friend and harvest XP...not sure at how many levels difference it work best, usually the more that still get XP is the best, but dont know the exact limit, so about 6 levels difference is a rough guess). Dont expect your friend to enjoy the game and play a long time if you powerlevel him, there is nothing fun in that.

thanks for the help.
seiing as how you all seem to have the same opinion about pleveled chars i guess ill consider sk'ing him anyway.
if he gets bored playing his char i would have done all the work for nothing anyway
SK is the best way.
I would love to be SK'ed and go with some high levels on their missions :P
my bro was in a high level team once, pure chaos but it was extremly fun and the exp was rolling in extremly fast aswell :P

Quite true on the chaos factor. I remember taking my brother who just started into a large team. He was level 8 and we were around level 30. I was talking to him on the phone at the same time and his comment was that everything seemed so chaotic, with all the powers and such flying around.
To someone who goes from only a few attacks to an 8 person team where everyone has a bunch of attacks each, things get very confusing. But as you play more and get use to your powers, it all starts to come together
