One space allowed. So Amazing Man yes, but not The Amazing Man. Two words max. Can't name after most cannon characters. Profanity filter in effect, sometimes a bit (or more than a bit) too sensitive, sometimes not enough. Max length doesn't seem a major issue, and I've seen some long names.
No word on how much enforcement there will be around somewhat offensive or frankly stupid names. Time will tell on that one.
Thanks. I had a bit of long name for one character. No profane or cannon names. I don't care to make a carbon copy of Batman or whatever. One thing I liked about CoH is the "The" in the name could be added.

Char naming rules, are you mixing up this game with GW2, thats where you can play a Char...
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

Back on topic. Yes this is actually a intersting Q as it helps plan future heroes and villains.
