The Secret World: Publishing Deal Clarification

It was announced earlier today that Funcom had reached a publishing deal with EA subsidiary EA Partners for The Secret World. MMORPG.com Managing Editor Jon Wood reached out to Funcom's Morten Larssen, VP of Sales and Marketing to ask a few clarifying questions. Does this mean that Funcom is now one of the many studios being bought up by EA?
No, this is purely a co-publishing agreement. EA does not have ownership in Funcom and EA is not involved in our other projects.

I wonder how damaging the penalties will be for not keeping up with publishing milestones. I'm interested in this game have really liked what has been released thus far.

After all that has happened with AoC, The worst thing they could do is rush this game....but somehow I think they same kinda things will happen. That doesnt mean I wont play. Im sure I will. I really like Funcom games despite the problems
Just something you have to deal with when playing a FC game.

I'm more banking on the idea of what Funcom/Ragnar can do.
Can they translate their talents from two very good adventure games (the longest journey/dreamfall) to a good MMO. I can only hope so.

Nothing but good news in this deal, EA will give more money to funcom to deliver, meaning (and i hope) a better end product. I also think this gives a rough guesstimate that TSW is not far from beta.

I still have mixed feelings about this. It is a done deal so it can't change but there is something in me saying "oh no".
We have been waiting for so very long for this game. It is almost like how the talk show host Wendy Williams says "they are a friend in my head but I haven't met them." TSW is like a "game in my head but will I ever be able to play it"? It has crossed the boundaries into never neverland. Maybe EA can make the game a reality ... soon.
