Lord of the Rings Online: Website Relaunched

Make that name change official. Turbine Entertainment's "The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar" has a new website to go with the fancy new name. You can check the whole thing out at this link. Here are some recent amazing visuals:

Damn sweet. I really love their new site and the screenshots are great. Awesome graphic and I simply can't wait for this game, I think it'll kick arse when it arrives.

This is most dissapointing.... why? because in a way it limits the game to the LOTR trilogy

but the world of Middle Earth is soo much richer , it would be interesting to see how will Turbine lay the plot to this one - wonder if there will be a timeline that matches the movement of powers and of the fellowship , heh will be nice to cross paths with the fellowship on the way to the mines of moria

Turbine only have the license for The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, so they can't use other Middle-earth related books (Unfinished Tales, Silmarillion, and HoME).

This game is shaping up to be a hit.

What are you people talking about? This game looks like the most boring game in the world?

Heres what i pulled off the features.

* The only massively-multiplayer role-playing game set in J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth

* Explore and adventure in Middle-earth with thousands of other players

* Travel with your Fellowship in the fight against the forces of Sauron

* Experience story-based questing and build your legacy

* Play as a member of the races of the Free Peoples of Middle-earth

* Visit the pastoral Shire, elegant Rivendell, rustic Bree, and many other locations from The Fellowship of the Ring

There is nothing in there i would remotly call groundbreaking or different from any other MMOG. Could someone please inform me about what the fuss is all about? It just sounds alot like everquest 1 which was based on Tolkien's Middle-earth.

Sure go ahead and start flaming a game that isnt even released yet, Good job. Except that Im pretty sure the "Features" list will get abit bigger when they get more done. Also I think you need to be a LOTR fan, that's why I wanna join it, cause I wanna try and be a part of it, be in their world if ya know what I mean. It look's great out from the screens and that's all we can judge out from and the feature list, But keep in mind, it is set to summer 2006, and you already judge it so hard out from the current features? gg

Actually for a game that was supposed to be out in 6 months originally I would think the list would be alittle bigger now...

Thats my point though, what features? I have been looking through the faq and docs on the site but there is nothing which sounds interesting.

I'm not flaming the game. I want to know what so great about buying it. Surly you'd agree thats a valid point to make.

Just because its LOTR doesn't make it interesting, a boring game is a boring game and i want to know what the features are so i know what the game play is going to be like.

I havn't seen any details on game play apart from its LOTR but MMOG. Thats why i was asking for a information on why its so great..

Maybe you should read the latest dev diary here http://lotro.turbine.com/index.php?page_id=87 if you want the info on the games AI.

Do you really think that is all the features this game has right now? It definitely isn't! They will be releasing more info and features in the future.

Exactly what I'm saying. And In 6 month alot can happen. Some firms state alot of info early and some wait till it's almost done. Just cause they havent released all info on the game yet doesnt mean it will not be great. And you can't state an opinion on the game play out from a list of text, you'll have to try it and be in it before you can judge. That's just my opinion.

I beleive we are all very familiar with Turbine's stealth marketting tactics. This at the moment is just proving to be another example of it.

And like you say yourself it was "SUPPOSED" to but aint anymore. You are saying 2 different thing? First you say you think the list would be bigger, and then you reply to my post and say we all know the tactic's of turbine, well no, we have no freaking idea, we are not insiders so how can we know? you can't compare a new project with the past. And I got nothing else to add to this conversation..
