Other than the delayed server opening, my experience has been relatively smooth.
Activated and patched the game on Monday, jumped right in when the server opened, and was able to get the name I wanted, so I'm pleased with how it all turned out.
Although I shared the problem some other mentioned with Steam being short of keys once I finally got in I was amazed by how well the game held together, I had a bug free first session - a first for any launching mmo. I love the graphics and the environment, the initial missions have been fun and varied and the tiny amount of pvp I ran into was fun even if I did get my ass handed me every single time ^^. The control and UI are probably the biggest concerns I have, maybe need a joypad or mouse as it doesnt seem trackball friendly atm (maybe I should have gone with the PS3 version??). All in all looking forward to getting home tonight and having another blast!
Was great until I started playing...the game is a gankfest. There are many more villains than heroes so we are always being ganked 5v1 or even worse
Yup, everyone seems to be rolling villain on the PvP servers, I saw it coming. I think that will be the major downfall, eventually Queues on villain side will get extremely long, and then Heroes will get tired of being beaten in open world PvP because they are outnumbered. I'm just trying to enjoy it while it lasts.
Maybe we can convince some of you MMORPGers to come to the light side
My brother and I will be joining you for exactly that reason tonight. Always looking for the best fight we can get, and always fun making larger groups of people QQ.

Are the PS3 servers pretty well populated?

I also intend to roll a Hero pvp'er tonight, although fun running with a huge pack of villains, down the road could be a problem

Purchased on steam here yesterday morning, pre loaded, patched at launchtime and added key to my SOE account, no problems whatsoever, having a blast
