So, earlier when the servers opend today i was gonna play for maybe 5-6 hours i figured, well now ive played for 13 hours without a break and only reason i stopped was becasue the EU servers went down 
Char creation is pretty good, the initial char creation could be abit better. but you get alot of stuff throughout the game so you can always keep customizing your char and it just keeps looking more and mroe badass.
It was a very fun experience, did tons of quests, a few solo dungeons and 2 group dungeons so far.
Lots of world pvp all over the place, i also liked that a few lvls apart really dont matter, i had people 2-3 lvls higer then me trying to gank me and i kicked their asses. I didnt get a chance to try out Legends pvp or arena yet tough, but world pvp is more fun.
The story is pretty good, i like all the "comic book" cut scenes after you do "story quests" really cool. Voice acting in the game is great, could be better some places. But cant complain, pretty much everything is voice acted, i dont know if its like this the whole game but i think so, im lvl 15 atm.
How did you guys enjoy the first day of the game?

I played this in beta and enjoyed it. I believe that more people = more fun, so the launch so far is great. This game does have some downsides, but what really makes it work for me is the way they rendered superspeed....it's the best version I've found yet.

i did enjoy it very much... like the beta too, played coulple of hours last night and went to sleep. atleast i know what i'll be playing while waiting for rift

I had a bunch fun tonight with it too. Good game, but the chat ui is bad.
We're on the same page! DCU is my #2 behind Rift! I feel it's hard to go back to CoH or CO after playing DCU.
It's fun. I've played for a couple of hours. I don't mind what I've paid for it since I don't plan to level that fast. I will be playing around with different characters for a couple of days before I settle on a "main" probably. I'm sure I can get $50 worth of amusement out of it before I decide whether I'm going to sub or not at the end of the 30 days.
I just played through all the new content in Cata and I think I'm about done with that, so I'm happy DCUO launched. It will be good till Rift and Earthrise come along and maybe beyond.
I read some posts by people who didn't like character creation, but I found the options to be more than enough for a game like this.
Also, some people who are bored of this game will be bored with anything since they may basically be bored of MMOs - period. That's understandable, of course.
I like the graphics and the combat. I'm not going to rave about this game, but I don't have anything bad to say about the starting experience, either. I look forward to logging back in for my next session and that's good enough for me at the moment.
Not only the chat UI, but ALL of it, the UI is utter crap. its the biggest downside about the game imo, most off the game isgreat. But we REALLY need a PC UI. its sooo obviously made for consolls that UI. couldnt they manage to make 2 diffrent UI's? it works tough, but its very hard to use and well, it just sucks (for PC, im sure it works great on the PS3)
Hopefully they will improve the UI.
