I recieved my original VIP Beta Key from Gamespot / IGN shortly before Beta 4 when I subscribed for a founders club membership. I got to play Beta 4 and it was great. I then pre ordered through Amazon because Im broke (they don't charge you until it ships) and I'd like to keep playing the beta events. However Amazon didn't send me my key yet and it's been two days.. any thoughts? or chances that the key I already have will get me in the next betas ?

Just contact Trion support. They have been amazing with solving issues surrounding some peoples pre-orders from third-party retailers. Usually they just ask you to send a picture or copy of your receipt and boom, your account gets "Pre-Ordered" status and you'll get access to the head-start week and all of the other perks.
Awesome! I kind of hope they don't let us go any further then level 30 in future beta's though as it would be nice to have some suprises left in the game.
This would be epic fail beyond belief. Name one game that did this and had any end game content to speak of at release ? They have to test it all not just 1-30 otherwise a month after release 50% will quit because end game wont exist.
They have another beta group, (still calling it alpha) testing out end-game content. These events are mostly promotional, stress testing, and general bug finding.
I've never enjoyed a beta as much as I did in RIFT Beta 4. Typically in a beta, you get disconnects, lag, performance issues, bugged abilities or combat and a plethora of other issues. Can't say I came across any of this during Beta 4, but I did have immediate fun, it didn't even feel like a beta, like someone said, it was a marketing ploy, it was too polished to be a beta, just needs class balance really.
I need a official mention about the pvp endgame content and how two factions and guilds within play a roll. Id like to buy the game, But if its just silly warfronts, and mindless raids then i wont waste the cash.
Sure running all the way there kill a few people, run all the way back, its fun to dick around and do, but not constantly.
If they say guilds of opposing factions can own a townstone then thats something to really get excited about. i mean why would they have two factions? just to beable to say we have two.. why not have one...
Opening rifts near enemy player townstones yea thats cool the first few times you do it, but then its like the rifts getting all the kills or, jeesh, that it its over? Or hay why open a rift, it just gives them xp and makes them more powerful faster.
Also for the conspiracy theorists out there, if there wasnt any endgame (which is highly unlikely) dont you think alpha testers would've leaked it all over the net?
I don´t get this. I´ve had FIVE seperate beta keys that are all listed under my beta profile and I still haven´t received a single invite...madness!
By beta key you mean in the account management inside the "window" that says "BETA" (inside a golden rectangle)? If so then you've had your invites.
If you purchased RIFT directly from Trion, your account is already flagged for VIP beta access and Trion will send you a beta invitation a few days before each beta event.
This should mean that even if you don't get the actual email you're account is still flagged and you can login to the game.
and let them know you pre-ordered directly from Trion and have not recieved emails; stating any events that you were unable to participate in. But, according to the above quote, should have been invited to. If you can do a Print Screen of the email confirming your digital order to add to the form (Click "Ask a Question" from the link above).
Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising everytime we fall.
I don't think Trion releases the figures on how many invites they send out, but if you look around at the VIP keys given out by various gaming sites, they're only giving out 25 or 50 at a time, maybe...
You normally see hundreds or thousands of beta(closed/promotional) keys being given out by these sites for other games...
Rift is the smoothest beta I have ever been in...its near flawless. Its also east to get so involved with the game that it's a huge surprise to look at a clock and see it is now 2AM. Love it !!
The betas are introducing different aspects of the game and it has been extreemly well done.
There are PVP and PVE servers, each with separate RP servers. The PVE servers allow PK if a players flags for it and also warfronts for pvp...if in the mood. Very well thought out!

is it only if your preorder from trior that you get the beta key?, or can i for example, preorder from a gaming store and get a key?

If I got accepted to the earlier beta can I still get into this one coming?
It's guaranteed if you have a VIP key only.
"There is as yet insufficient data for a meaningful answer."

Either way these beta events are great.
FoE Fist of the Empire
jup
Battle of the Ascends= event five: 1/25-1/27
Planar War= event six: 2/4-2/7
Telara the Merciless= event seven: 2/15-2/22
planar war sounds like well, big stream of events if anything as for telara the merciless as its a whole week, maybe a form of open beta?
Clicky for Rift trial

Suck to be you Pride!
I thought is you bought the game from trion you automatically get to beta the rest of the time?

I'd like to see less hype...
And more beta invites going out....
