What is the point of this thread? If you're only asking for the negative points of the game, then what impression do you think you will leave with? You sure as hell aren't going to want to buy the game if you only hear about the bad points of the game.

The reason im askin whats bad about the game is because ive seen everything i think is good about the game so i would like to know whats bad about it to from a final opion,
Graphics are not good quality at lower settings. High settings lag people, just like other games
Getting stuck in terrain or building/bridge's happens, sometimes /stuck doesnt work.
Open combat all the time, so player justice is the rule, instead of CCR help. Level 75's will gank level 20's from time to time. Only way to solve the problem is to become level 75 yourself and hunt them down.
Sometimes the servers go on the fritz and cause lag. Not often, compaired to the rocky start of the game years ago.
You must find a guild or nation to join, to enjoy the full aspects of the game.
Lower populations than normal. 800ish on wrath and around 300 or so on the other servers during prime time (gaining and losing population all the time).
Economy and server politics are run by the players.
Newbie island can be hell, because its either deserted or people become ass's since there is no open combat on it, and griefing is eazier when you have restrictions like that.
SB.EXE crashes still happen, tho rare these days. I get maybe 1 a month.. but then again Ive always gotten very few of them, even at the start of the game. It all depends on the system the game is on.
Thats why some people think sb sucks. I enjoy the game alot. Every game has diffrent set of problems.

"Government exists to protect us from each other. Where government has gone beyond its limits is in deciding to protect us from ourselves." ~ Ronald Reagan
Open, constant pvp. Mines, seiges, disputes over land and exp. No repetitive BS (player ranked crafters instead of players as crafters).
When I first started the game (comming from DAoC) I hated the interface. The point and click was very hard to get used to. Now, I think its superior to fps style movement, you can get alot done, call targets while moving, birds eye view of the battle ground, etc. Everytime I try to play DAoC again I cancel it, because that type of movement is for UT2k4, not a mmorpg.
Hardly any guilds use lore anymore. The ones that do are just a joke. ARAC for the win is the SB moto.
PvP sieges. Yeah. They're great. Until you're tree is baned and 50 guilds come to raze your tree. All hail the zerg.
Politics. OMG you killed our macro xp group we are gonna burn you to the ground!!!
Merchants. Awesome if people actually put stuff on them.
Future. I really don't see them ever fixing SB. They will continue to build on a flawed engine and world. They can never fix the game, only apply bandages to the wounds.

There are die hards that want a lore server. It may, or may not happen. I know Ill try out the lore server if it happens, as a temple nation burning everyone.
Well if 50 guilds come to tear down your tree then you must of done something majorly wrong to piss off the server.
Politics do exist, and non afk xp groups exist. My video shows a fight that happened near an xp group at the Irekei War Camp. You can NOT macro thoes mobs, because its a constant pvp battle just to stay there and kill them (for insain xp, 150k a kill at r7). With the amount of scouts and hunting groups on wrath its impossable to do anything afk. Politics - peacing a guild to xp at that camp for an hr or so.. thats when you lose to many times HEH.. and thats small scale stuff.
As merchants I mean the "tent open towns" and the 30 people who stand around in aeldreth selling stuff. Live market controlled by players. We control the price of stuff, not UBI.
Fix what? Fix what? State what needs to be fixed (outside what I said above). SB.exe crashes are fixed (rember archers doing it? its FIXED, so are many other causes). Lag isnt as bad as release (there can be sync issues, which is being addressed). Dupes have been found, dupes have been fixed. Many other issues resolved. Like ALL mmorpgs, they continue to fix/update/etc the game clients and servers.
DAoC, AC, UO, EQ, AO, and every other mmorpg had dupes/exploits/etc. Some guy rebuilt a client in DAoC and was able to do things CCR's could, and posted a video (and his email abotu being banened). Supposidly he could do it again, he never gave up how he did it. That happened in SB once, and almost a whole nation got banned cus of it.
Go out, buy a programming book, and make a better mmorpg thats like shadowbane, but with a better engine and no bugs, created by you. Ill pay you 30$ a month to play it, and buy it for 150$ on the store shelves.

Best character creation (i've made 100s, maybe 1000s, lol and still don't get bored with it), they've added /lfg and /lfgu tags (looking for group and looking for guild) so you can find people , I LOVE the point and click movement system, soooooooo much better than the keyboard movement of other games like EQ2 (which i hated...), and while I don't PVP much I appreciate the tension it adds to the game. (BTW if you find you get stuck in bridges etc and /stuck doesn't work, #1 be more careful where you walk, #2 always keep a recall scroll handy)
Shadowbane is easily the best PvP game out. If you're looking for WoW style graphics and for more carebearish stuff like quests instead of PvP of course you're going to say it sucks. Most of the posts about how it sucks probably some from people who got ganked on their first time out of a safehold. The only complaint I can have with it is the occasional lag in the middle of a huge battle which can get annoying. Comparing Shadowbane and WoW as much as is possible given that the two are really completely different, Shadowbane while lacking in the RPG part of MMORPG (RPG is pretty much for carebears after all) is easily superior in one important aspect. Where as it is pretty difficult to catch up to the l33t's who run rampant on WoW and play for hours and hours a day, this isn't a problem in Shadowbane, just find a PL group and you'll easily be in shape to kill the best of them.
If you like action and excitement then SB is your game. If you like lvl grinds go play WoW or something.
What greater tribute to free will than the power to question the highest of authority? What greater display of loyalty than blind faith? What greater gift than free will? What greater love than loyalty?
its the best pvp out there to date. It just had a rocky release and its a shame it never got another chance. It really would have better than EQ had it been marketed and released better. Poor Ubisoft....
"Despite what they tell you the original RAY's is on 7th ave."
This is the best PvP game out - period. If you're a graphics whore, you're not gonna like this game. The best PvP guilds in WoW and possibly Guild Wars came from Shadowbane. Leveling up is fast compared to other games so you can get into the action pretty quick. Try the trial account before deciding if this game is for you.
Win Back = Suck Back. All my toons on Mourning which has an avg of 300-350 players on at peak. Rolled a toon on wrath, got to 25, went to look for a guild and no one even replied to me. Shouted for an hour in a freehold where there were at least 12 guilds going through and no one replied except one jerk who told me to stfu. nice. SB=Rotting bloated corpse.

Aside from a slightly subpar graphics engine, SB is head and shoulders above all other MMORPG's in the freedom it delivers to the player.
Nowhere else can you find such diverse character creation options, total freedom of playstyle, unrestricted pvp, city building and ownership, item creation and merchandising, unrestricted recruitment, unrestricted lore and law, unrestricted alliances, unrestricted political interaction made and maintained solely by players, and the ability to raise an army and subjugate your enemies -- all in one tidy package. Shadowbane has it all.
You alone determine your playstyle. You can be a merchant, a nomad, a thief, a soldier, a diplomat, a farmer, a serial killer, a general, etc., etc., etc. You and you alone determine who you will seek to join and who you will seek to do battle with or kill. And you are free to change your mind at any time... No forced alliances or playstyles by virtue of character selection.
The variety of races from the speedy Centaur to the high flying Aracoix birdmen... sturdy massive Minotaurs to fragile but nimble and clever elves... and many more: humans, dwarves, aelfborn, winged nephalim demons, life draining vampires, undead Shades, and desert dwelling Irekei... coupled with the multitude of available professions (wizard, thief, assassin, templar, etc., etc., etc., ) and further refined with a multitude of disciplines... give Shadowbane the most diverse, yet balanced, character possibilities of any mmorpg to date.
Wide open pvp. Attack anybody you want to attack any time you want to attack them. No penalties other than making enemies. The law system is totally player created and enforced.
Relatively fast character leveling compared to other games. A well developed city system, guild system and nation system. Build an empire. Raise an army. Subjugate the world. Or casually farm and craft weapons and armour to sell to the world's warriors for profit. The choice is yours... and the choices are nearly infinite.
The actual game concept does not suck What sucks is the technology wasn't quite there yet or whoever coded it sucked horrid at it. Which leads to lag, massive melee sync issues, and a bad gaming experience. I haven't had too many problems with losing gold, items, etc except in SB. If it was gone through no fault of your own the CCR's didn't care they wouldn't do anything. Exploits abound and are rarely punished, especially if you're a well liked member of the community. Game concept, awesome. game deployment, horrible.

No thanks. I'll play a game where the servers actually have more then 500 ppl on them.

It doesn't suck, it just needs more things to do. The pve is mind-numbing, and it has no crafting. No quests. Nothing. ONLY pvp. The pvp is REALLY good and fun, but that's a very limited amount of content. Very limited.
How many times can you do the same exact thing over and over again before it gets boring? If I want to be bored, I'll rejoin the Air Force and volunteer for guard duty.

Actually thats true About everyone whos into pvp at least tried shadowbane out for a while at release. Id still be playing myself it it was free, but im not ganna spend 15$ on a game with tech outdated 5 years ago and small populations. Not to mention the lame boting , macroing and duping xploits.
