I am assuming you have a decent gaming PC. If so, the PC version would be my recomendation.

I would imagine just out of necessity that the pc version will eventually be better/ have more in it than the ps3. The pc format is capable of handling alot more. Shrug.

These posts dont really provide enough information for me to make a informed decision.  How about graphics, gameplay, community, lag, etc.?

It really depends on your PCs capability.

If your PC is designed for gaming (Awesome graphics card, memory, things like that) Then use that. If your PC is just an everyday computer, playing a good game on it will take up a lot of it's space and even still it would lag like ****.

Then there's the PS3 version. I don't know how you would use chatbox (There would probably be voice chat, but not everyone has a mike) but graphics would likely be a bit better and there would be much, much less.

But over time, the PC version will eventually come out on top. Just my OP.

Oh, and you can think what you like of those four stars image

I chose PS3 version for my own reason (hope I don't end up regretting it).  If I had to do it over I think it would be a toss up now, our ques for alerts/arena/legends is ridiculous becuase for some reason it isn't cross-servered.  This has been my only gripe so far, additionally I am currently grinding/playing Darkfall and playing DCUO on my ps3 lets me continue to do such.

The PC version is significantly better if you have the computer to run it well enough.  I played beta on the PS3 and bought it for the PC, its a huge improvement.

Well bear in mind that this is a mmo where you have to communicate a lot.

I have a good PC and TV, so my concerns are not about this.  I just want to know if I should get the PC version or the PS3 version and why.  So far from what I read over here are the pros and cons:

    Graphics:

PC will always be better b/c of the high resolution tweaks available. However, TV output provides a larger screen for viewing.  I guess this will be up to personal preference.

    Gameplay:

PC has more shorcut keys for actions/abilities but at the same time this is an action game (so leaning towards PS3 on this one)

    Community:

I definelty say PC because MMORPGs require constant communication (chat, search for parties, etc).  I don't see the same ease of use for the PS3 version.

So the choices are tough.  I will likely end of getting the PS3 version cuz I am curious to see how a MMORPG will play like on a console.  Hope my thougths are simple.  Anyone else?

I'd been thinking about the same thing and was hoping someone who's played both could go over the differences.

    My thoughts..

Graphics - PC has a clear edge here. Higher resolutions, anti-aliasing, effects, etc. Reading text for quests and chat would be easier. And you can always hook up your PC to your TV if you want big screen + couch.

Controls - Never seen an MMO that could be handled better on controller over keyboard + mouse. If it is the case that this game plays better on a controller then you could use a controller on your PC (I play many PC games with my Xbox 360 controller), seems advantage would go to PC for having more options.

Community - Unless the PS3 version lets you use a keyboard I can't see a strong community on PS3 at all. Voice chat will help but no text for chat channels is going to kill communication. Guild organization has to be pretty weak on console.

So in my evaluation PC has every advantage over PS3 here but I'm still interested in 1st hand account.

The only advantage the PS3 has is that you can play it on a bigscreen TV.  Now, it will look like crap warmed over on a bigscreen compared to a nice monitor on the PC... but yah.  Even if you prefer the controller, you can just hook one up to your PC.

My missus hogs the PC so I bought the ps3 version. With a Bluetooth keyboard you can easily chat, the controls are easy enough except when running upside down on a roof. Over all it's a good experience to sit back on a sofa and play on the big screen.

Yea, but you can hook your PC up to your TV too if you have a long HDMI cable or aren't too lazy to move your PC over there :)

PS3 version has no advantages over PC atall. PS3 version is ment for ppl who doesent have a gaming rig and do theyr everyday gaming on console.

PC is cheaper, better and more populated.

Just get it on PC and use a console controller. Best of both worlds.

avg console gamer on voice chat:

    high pitched

9/10 words are four letters and not used in public outside of drunken bar fights

avg pc mmo public game channel chat:

cant hear their annoying voice unless you get on a vent server

text chat is filtered and anyone persisting at beating a filter to be an idiot is easily banned because the text is logged where voice god only knows if they keep track

also pc versions update easier faster and you dont have to run out and get a new laptop hard drive for your ps3 if the game exceeds freespace (my ps3 only has a 120gig drive and its a pain to change out compared to my laptop which has 750 gigs with over 250 open yet.)

Community - Yes you can use a keyboard to chat in DCUO on the PS3 version. Aside from that You can VC with friends etc while you play same as with any other game on the PS3.

Graphics - Honestly having played both, the PS3 version looks better overall and before some thinks they are clever my rig is a beast lol so don't even try to say it's my rig. The PS3 version just looks better.

Gameplay - While I do enjoy my Keyboard and Mouse a great deal

    Razar Naga

    And Wolfking Timberwolf

I still ended up going with my PS3 for DCUO.

    Reasons

I like PvP I have far less to worry about on the PS3 version as far as hacks go. I for once won't have to worry about hardware or software conflicts lol. There is no "well ATI's or Nividia's new drivers conflict with w/e and wait for a fix or role back your driver" lol.

Overall I'm expecting far less issues with the PS3 version than what typically accompanies PC MMO's. Less headaches overall with new patches and etc.

Using a controller on a PC seems to always seems slightly less responsive as far as the thumb sticks goes if it isn't designed to use the controllers and after using a controller on the PC version I already know I prefer the controller on the PS3 version.

Lastly I get to play an MMO with a group of my friends that I don't typically play with in the MMO scene because they stick with consoles mainly.

Ok all, since this is my original post, I decided to go buy both the PC and PS3 versions.  So far, I spent around 10+ hours playing this game on the PC.  Here are my thoughts:

    Graphics:

Very nice but screen size could be better if bigger on a tv.  I did notice some bugs - my character went bold (hairless) when I zoom too close and/or when my camera is blinded behind a building.  Once you move out or zoom out your hair comes back. =)

    Community:

I didn't participate in much of the communitivy activites but I did realize it was nice and easy to search nearby players.  I think since this game is sooo action oriented, communicating via typing is only possible when you are not fighting.  As for size of community, I think PC is slighly bigger on the forums; however, the PS3 game is sold out everywhere!!!!

    Keyboard/Mouse vs PS3 Controller

I finally figured this one out and its a easy one.  Ha!!!  So most people (including I), play MMORPGs on the PC and all other games on the PS3.  However, I believe this game may be an exception to the rule.  This game is very very action oriented and I am kinda sick of clicking the mouse.  Hahah.  Besides that, there are 8 action/abilities you can save for your number key on the keypad.  It is not a lot compared to other MMORPGs, and because of this, I would say (though I have not tried), use a PS3 controller.  I rather push triangles, squares, circles, L2, R2, etc than mouse and 1,2,3,4,5,6......

Another point on this is that you can always hook up your PS3 controller to your computer, granted you have bluetooth and granted you are slightly computer savy (1-10 being the highest in savy), you need to be a 2......=)

Well, thats all for now.  I have nothing to say about the gameplay because its awesome.  Again, its action oriented and keeps you on your feet.  Enjoy guys!
