Your the only person who should cut the act... Get a new pc and stop bitching. Any one that says this game looks bad and runs bad is 1. a wow fan boy or 2. has a shit pc.

OK, I call complete and utter BS on that comment.
i7 930 processor with 8 gigs of ram and a ATI 5870 and game runs worse (@20-30 fps) than anything else I got. Just because it happens to run great for your setup doesn't mean everyone else having a far inferior experience is a total moron and/or is running outdated hardware and/or drivers.

Haha, these screenshots are not of his own anyway, I saw these screenshots months before beta began. Talk about acting.
Gamebryo Engine is a terrible game engine for MMORPGs to be made upon. Time after time, it’s been demonstrated to be an out dated engine, and should be banned from MMORPG altogether.
Just look at Warhammer, and 2 other games that I don’t want to mention their names.
But I say, MMORPG Developers should move away from using Gamebryo engine.
Hey iam glad Elder Scrolls is moving away from it. Hopefully the MMORPG version won’t use it as well.
But now we have another upcoming AAA MMO that’s using this fail engine. And it worries me.
Edit:
Realized this is my 1000thpost here.
After modding the engine over the past 4 years there's nothing left of the GameBryo engine in Rift.. Do your research first and save the Drama for your Mama...

Looks like as per usual those that have nVidia graphics cards have no problems. This is far from the first game that this is happening.
Yup. I have a Desktop and Laptop with ATI cards, neither can run RIFT smoothly (in Beta's 2 and 3, only ones I've participated in). But my brother's desktop with an nvidia (9800 I think? Might be newer though, not sure) runs it flawlessly.
I have a computer worse than a lot of people on here that are complaining, and I can run it on max settings, with everything on, and I have no problem....I am not getting 50-60 fps, but I notice no video lag, or jumping, everything runs smooth...
Not saying people are lying, just might be something very fixable, i.e. a driver update or something....I do know it seems that ATI people have more problems.

Huh... I've got a mid-spec machine. 2 year old AMD quad core, 4 gigs of ram, and the piece de resistance, an ATI 4850, and I got great performance. Had Fraps running and was clocking around 45 FPS, maybe dipping towards 40 during invasions with 40 or more players. While I didn't have the settings maxxed out, they were on the higher side of things and at 1440x900, and the game looked beautiful.
Just because it happens to run like shit on your setup doesn't mean everyone else is having a far superior experience is a total moron and/or is running bleeding edge hardware and/or drivers.

Game ran and looked fine on my pc.
Wasn't real impressed with the game myself but have to say neither of those were an issue or problem I had with the game. I was actually rather surprised with how well the game ran considering it was still beta and some areas were so heavily populated by players.
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.

The game is still a tad unoptimized for higher end PCs. This will change overtime. I run Rift surprisingly good on what I consider a medium range laptop yet on my high end desktop I drop below 30fps on ultra.
Ill add my opninon on this. Gamebyro is a very good engine like unreal or cryengine. It is getting old but that makes no difference, it may not be fully optimizied for the higher end of the pc spectrum but it still runs great. Theres a reason devs use gamebyro/unreal for new games, they wouldnt use them if they where rubbish now would they. What is a problem is poor programmers not optimizing code and bogging down your cpu/gpu with unnecessary proccess.

An interesting and subtle attempt to bash Rift OP. Congratulations.
FF14 performs terribly though, so I'd rather have an engine that's optimized better.

Bethesda is making their own engine for the Elder Scrolls 5. No more Gamebryo

Absolutely. The graphics engine they're using is fine. It's the core game mechanics that they can't get right.

Did you just say ATI?

I can confirm that the game looks like those screenshots on my own machine. nvidia 295 here btw for those interested.

Playing: Rift, LotRO
Waiting on: GW2, BP
Hmm: e6600(2.40ghz)+gtx260@medium settings 1680x1050=30 fps alone, 10fps with people around.
There is a known issue with ATI's most recent drivers and the game and supposedly rolling back to a previous one would solve some issues.

It would be nice if more devs used dx10 or 11 code though. Well not so much 10, but 11.

What games besides Warhammer and Rift use the Gamebyro? Answer
Drop the next-gen marketing and people will argue if the game itself has merit.
