Bought the game at lunchtime today. Just played for half an hour before I get ready for a night on the razz.
My first impressions are that the graphics are nice but kinda sterile and cold. Combat seems to be a bit cold as well.
I'm not one to pack up a game on first impressions though. I'll give it a go tomorrow (if I'm not to hungover that is).

Trust me combat is anything but "cold" once you get some more skills and have 8 skills critical to your success in battle. Combat in GW is very intense and life or death can happen very fast, pretty much every review I've read agrees.
As for the graphics.. you must be in the mountainous area in pre-searing for it to be "cold".
pre-searing ascalon is IMO a mistake on arena.net's part. It empahsises the instancing a little too much by not forcing you to group, and provides wide open spaces where very little attacks you. Once you get post-searing, the game improves loads as you actually enter the main storyline.

PvE in general is pretty lame, if you think long and hard about it. You are spending your time beating a severely gimped AI that would lose to a well trained monkey. Best not to think too long and hard why you are wasting time playing games in general actually...
I feel the same way.
(only played for about 8 hours, though, still hanging in there...)
