Just remember that addiction is addiction. A lot of alcoholics after quitting for 6 months to a year say they are just going to have 1 drink, or are just going to drink occasionally. Then in a week they drunk all the time again. The same can happen with games.
Edit: and to those people arguing that you cant get "addicted" to video games, just ignore them. Have you ever been around alchoholics? They are exactly the same, they have all these justifications they tell themselves and other to deny reality and justify their behavior.

Advice of the wise. Thanks for the inpute, it's highly appreciated.
Best of luck to you, I was spending way too much time on mmos before as well, I spend alot less time on gaming now and it's better. I've stopped with mmos until TOR gets out, I just don't feel the mmos on the market now is worth my spare time.
Nice decision mate.I found my self at the same point where u are and i had left gaming world for about 4 years.
The result was that i was drinking alcohol about 4 times a week.
Now after 4 years im back and im trying to keep things stabilized but fucking games are an addiction.Although im not playing as much as in the old times and i spent many hours outside.
So I've decided to take a long break from MMOs. More-so just dropping gaming completely (at least I'm playing extremely casually).
The reason being, it's just become a really bad addiction. I've been playing MMOs for the past 7 years (I think) and they've just started to consume my life more and more. To the point where I really don't have much social skills, and with that comes lower self confidence/esteem. Fortunately, I've managed to break from the game world about a month ago and my life is slowly recovering. This is something I should have done a long time ago....
I've started making the best of my free time; spending time with friends, I've started running (plan on doing track), and whatever else I can find to do other than wasting all my time gaming. It's definitely paying off and I'm happy to have taken this direction.
So in case anyone was wondering why I even made a thread about this...just because I felt like it, it's that simple.
So I'm pretty much done until GW2 comes out, in which case i plan on limiting myself and continuing what I've started.
Good for you! I recently did the same thing myself, stopping playing all MMO's until Guild Wars 2 comes out.

Moderation is the key.
