Earthrise: Box Art Surfaces

As the release date for Earthrise approaches, the PR machine kicks into gear. Iceberg Interactive and Masthead Studios have released the box art for the European edition of the game slated to be officially released on February 4th. Check it out!
Available for PC on February 4, Earthrise is a post-apocalyptic, sci-fi MMORPG set in the distant future. Featuring a unique skill-based advancement system and player-driven economy, as well as extensive, meaningful player-vs.-player combat, Earthrise gives players countless options to forge their destiny through its sandbox-style game mechanics. Whether a noble soldier in the raging conflict between the Continoma and the Noir, a criminal hiding from the law, or a world-renowned engineer whose power extends into intricate trade and politics, players’ actions will echo throughout the game world.

Curious how they made sure to add that it's a MMORPG and not just a MMO, or MMOG. I like RP but not sure how RP will fit into the given storyline.
I would have bought it on release day if she was scantily clad. Since she isn't scantiliy clad, I'll get it later in the month.
How do her buttcheeks describe the contents of this game in anyway. :-I Imo, there's other, much better ways to catch gamer's attention than softcore pornography, even though this is very mild case. But I may be wrong about that...
Anyway... Nice ass on the chick on the box, sure that will attract a good amount of H.S. & College virgins.

I think I will pass on this game just for that reason alone (don't judge me unless you know me in real life and know how many of these women I have had to deal with in 48 years).
It would sure be nice if Artists could create a box art that appeals to adults without using sex or anatomy. If I was looking for those "features" I sure would not be playing MMOs lol.

Wait what? The game's coming out Feb 4th? The latest beta video looked like early beta footage to me.. I'm not sure releasing the game yet is such a good idea. Ah well, I didn't have any plans playing the game so doesn't matter much to me. But the game looked really unfinished to me. GL Masthead.
Er, this isn't an ad to date the imaginary woman - maybe look at the features and see if there's something you like: skill-based advancement system, player-driven economy, extensive, meaningful player-vs.-player combat, sandbox-style game mechanics.
Worth checking out the vids available because it is looking a bit shaky this close to launch. There is more polish and smoother looking gameplay in WoW, LOTRO etc. If you're one of the site regulars that bemoans lack of originality, meaningless PVP or the rise of themepark MMOs then you really should try it because ER is supposed to be the antidote to all of that.
That is a really weak looking box though.

I hear ya man. They act like it's worse than any other mmorpg. At least she isn't showing cleavage. Box art never made or broke a game for me. but, I guess haters are just going to hate.

As with the videos that Masthead provided. . . .again that's the best they can do? Video, now artwork; both appear cheap, shallow and uninspiring.
If that's the inspiration for consumers, the connection they want to make to their business, alrighty then.
I'm going to buy the Dawn of War II: Retribution Collector's Edition box. Just looks sweet. Maybe Dragon Age 2 as well, though I'll likely get that through Steam.
I don't know what the right term is, softcore, whatever, but obviously your attention is trying to be caught with the physics of this female avatar, and that is bit tasteless in my opinion, when the game isn't Duke Nukem, Leisure Suit Larry or the like. It's completely fine though, doesn't really matter one bit, but my aesthetically critical self just likes to comment on these things. Nothing too serious, as usual.
That cover would catch my attention when it in a store together with 10s of PC games, with is the whole point. It is an eye catcher. Now the question is would I pick up the game and read the back, that would be even more importend! :P

I honestly dont remember being this excited about a game launching, ever. Kind of cool they are having a box copy as well...stoked about that. I'm also going to picture that girl on the front when I lay down with my wife tonight.
I really have high expectations for this game...I know their may be issues at launch, but this could really be fun, Masthead is really taking some chances...I like all of them from what I've read.

I too saw the latest beta video. It looked like some serious server lag or syncing issues. I'll wait for some post-release footage and reviews before I invest anything in this game. The features sound nice.
