It might be just me, which I can accept, but I had a bit of a face palm when I watched a TERA video. Which I thought I'd share, and see who else gets the same reaction.
Honestly I didnt know it was your typical Japanese MMO. When did I realise it was? I just watched a video and saw your typical Pikachu looking locals, Pandas walking around, Men with very large bodies but small heads and long trench coats, women in armor that looks like they are pole dancers, and girls with bunny ears randomly growing from their heads with small pink noses...
Seriously whats up with that? Everything they do looks like that. Its weird, like they can't think of any other way to portray a fantasy realm. Personally it wrecks it for me, the second I see a small fat Pikachu walk into screen I think, "Oh for gods sake, here we go..."
Examples of facepalms;
I can guess without hearing a single sound effect that the voice overs when attacking will sound like a small chinese girl getting angry, or a deep voice Ganjin.
Is this simply a case of, 'I played Final Fantasy on the playstation, therefore I like it!". I didnt play final fantasy, and I cant stomach it.
Guess this wont be for me...

I'd take this over the generic Tolkien orcs/elves/goblins/trolls/gnomes/dwarves/wizards-in-bathrobes western fantasy ala WoW/War/Rift/Mortal ANYDAY.

And I suppose requesting sliders for boobs is all normal for other cultures? You know, what seems weird and twisted to you, might seem regular and boring for other. Lets keep an open mind. Besides, we do have a choice to avoid what we don't like, don't we?
Maybe I am the only one who thinks this way, but if I am going to stare at pixels for hours at a time, I want them to look sexy. I play female characters almost all the time for the sheer fact that they generally look hot. I am married, so no, I am not some basement dwelling turd looking up porn all the time. I just enjoy my characters to look sexy. Is that a bad thing?

Interesting, I always thought about them the same way I would about say... female halflings from lotro or female gnomes from WoW, etc.
Niether than Human, Amani, or High Elf females look anything even remotely close to children. Castanics look 18ish. There are options for a reason.

No problem here, everyone has his choice from the brutal amani to the ridiculous elin. I think the races are very interesting and I'd rather have them instead of your typical orc/dwarf tolkien inspired generic game.
If you can't get past the art-style then the game is not for you. This is very simple we don't need a new thread for it each week, I never go in EvE forums to complain about the lack of ground based gameplay or twich-based gameplay, neither in DF forums about the lack of space combat. I'm not very fond of the art-style myself but I'm not willing to be hindered if the rest of the game is amazing.
Back to what the OP is saying. It's a Korean game one. As well, it's just a cultural thing. Western games won't have that type of stuff because it caters to westerners.. but you look at Eastern games and its obvious you won't find the same type of stuff since its a different culture. If you don't like it then as usual.. you have the choice to sticking with what you are comfortable with. Gamers in Korea don't give a flying donkey about what we like or don't like and same with us.. Us gamers don't care if they don't like our games..
Umm I'm more concerned with the fact that you think the elin look like children then use said they were "hot and sexy". I think they were meant to be cute if nothing else. Besides there are other races to pick from...Barak, Humans, Castonic, Amani, High Elf.
All that aside, fantasy has always had half dressed sexy warrior women and cute little being. So people should be used to it by now.
Here we go again. What is with this? Every thread I read somehow manages to switch conversation from one thing to female characters. Who cares who you play? Unless classes are gender-locked, people shouldn't take notice of what gener you are. Unless, of course, you play the game to look for mild porn.
