Coruscant

Not sure of this has been reported but it was confirmed that the empire side will not be able to visit this planet.  Kinda a bummer but understandable.

Highly doubt it, the first CGI Deceived had the Sith crashing a building in Coruscant.

Morsong's correct in this instance. Empire players cannot visit Coruscant. It is crawling with Republic forces, of course - who have their guards up after the assault on the planet.

    There are other planets, though....

Very bad move i know i will play many alts so i will eventually see all of the content but this is an immersion issue.

Can i go to Iran?  I sure could (not legally) it wouldnt be smart and i would likely suffer severe consequences but i could.

Back when i played vanilla wow could i visit stormwind on my shammy, i sure could, i probably wouldnt survive but i could go there.

This is a step backwards imo and removes many story opporunities i mean damn i wanted to play an imperial agent who would sit back and spy on whats going on in coruscant.

Considering the empire just dang near wasted Coruscant not too long ago.  IT's likely they are watching and very hostile towards any empire ships coming in range aka shooting them on sight.

It's likely you wouldn't even get close to the planet before security would blast you.  Makes sense story wise.

Yeah I agree, still would have been nice to go there but storywise it makes sense. Also on the front page we may have a potential pvp planet.

Yeah would have been nice, oh well, it's what 1 planet out of what 17 at the moment?  I can live with that.

Regarding the 17th planet.  Yeah it looks like a PvP type one.  I'll update the feature list soonish.

Lets see what the game offers when it is actually released.

I will bet corruscant will have an underworld , and opportunities to visit it will be available for non republic .....

Too good an opportunity for the developers to miss out on. These can be high level recon /stealth missions.

There will be four classes for the Sith side, including the Imperial Agent.  If an Imperial Agent can't sneak onto Coruscant, then how exactly is it an 'Imperial Agent'?

This does suggest that parts of the game are a lot more 'phased', 'instanced' and 'closed' than the supporters of the 'open world' schtick seem to think.

More to the point, how did Palpatine get to be Chancellor with the biggest office in the biggest building of the whole damn place?

We already knew that planets would be in seperate instances from one another, so in what way does this suggest more instancing than supporters have suggested?  The devs have said they are trying to make it so that the only time we'll see a loading screen is when going from one planet to another.

We also know that just as in WoW dungeons will be instanced. There will be a transparent colored partition, but when we walk through there should be no loading screen. Dunno if that will work in practice with a heavily populated server, but that's what they're going for. I'll add that it worked when the press got their 6 or 7 hours of play, but we'll have to see if it remains that way with more people on a server. I don't know enough about how that works to even know if having more people will make a difference, but I have noticed on other games that higher populations tend to mean longer loading times.
