My short review of the game

Well, I enjoyed it so far. There are some nasty things that the developers need to look at ASAP, however the game is fun!

Graphics: 9/10

Combat: 9/10

Quests/PvE: 9/10

Lore: 10/10

PvP: 8/10 (need some reward for Open world PvP ASAP)

Gear/Armor sets: 9/10

Stats: 8/10

Class Balance: 9/10

UI: 4/10

Social: 3/10

Community: 6/10

Endgame: 8/10

Bugs/Improvements: 6/10

World stability/Launch smoothness: 10/10

OVERALL: 8.5 / 10

That's it I cba to detail each one of these but I have not participated in the beta and I bought the game immediately at release and been playing it since then non-stop

The getting used to control with mouse+keyboard took a good 4-5 days of me, and then also the targeting kinda sucked lol. But I am ok with them right now and killing enemies in this game is a blast. Also getting to know the new powers and combos keep me entertained.

I find that the game is very close to the GW system, do not expect something like WAR / WoW or AoC. It feels different, it is different.

You will level up fast, but still the endgame will take tons of your time. Armor looks shiny and tons of options. PvE is fun in this game (I am a PvPer mainly). Some skills and powers are worthless and the UI does not explain what they are. You need to respec tons and tons of times lol.

Wishlist: I wish they look at the exact description of powers (casting time, duration, a proper description, stat boost etc.).

Also I wish that they give a meaning to Open world PvP (renown etc.). Also a bounty system would fit right in to this genre.

Overall, go buy this one, you will not regret it for at least 2 months and you will be entertained; even if you are a PvE person or PvP person.

NO GOLD FARMER SPAMS so far ! [ probably the farmers couldn't understand the social UI yet haha! ]

LOl dude.. the game just came out jan 11th or whatever and if there was a beta wipe then the farmers need time to farm and whatever.

edit: kinda early to expect ingame currency sellers is all im saying. i dont know much about DCUO because i'd never buy a game SOE was a part of, but if it gets popular enough and it's possible to trade currency the gold sellers will find ways to exploit/hack/steal currency to sell on their websites and SOE won't be able to stop them..

er.. nice spew of random numbers.. no evidence of any kind to back them up.. so... kind of pointless.. nice one.

on the other hand;

Graphics 6/10 in game resolution is limited to PS3 level of detail, not a problem for PS3 players perhaps but for PC players, its already somewhat dated. but reasonably good even so.

Combat 5/10 Depending on which form you use, the combat can be fairly fluid or.. frustratingly tedius, manic button pushing is definitely suited to the PS3 gamepad, rather than keyboard and mouse, gamepads on the PC seem to be a bit hit and miss in terms of support.

Quests 4/10 As the quests seem to follow the exact same formula (same quest different foe doesnt equal unique) leading to very repetitious gameplay...

PVP 7/10 this is the main focus of the game, but.... let down currently by imbalance. expect it to improve.

gear/armour sets 4/10 intial choices appear to be fairly limited, particularly compared to other games in the superhero genre, its inevitable there will be comparisons..

stats 3/10 thought personally that the level limitation and the need to complete the same content over and over again, in order to optimise, particularly in pvp.. poorly thought out.

class balance 5/10 it could be worse, but it does seem as though some are virtually useless.. might be game play issues there, again i would expect this to be addressed in the next few patches.

UI.. 6/10 its not great.. but i have seen worse.. much much worse..

social 1/10 for some reason the game is trying to stop people communicating, the in game voice is.. horrible, and the lack of adequate/reliable text chat is really odd, considering SOE has so many games that do have half decent text chat systems.

community 5/10 i'd score it higher but the games 'communication issues' are a problem

its not a bad game, but its a game that could be a lot better, rather than classing it as an MMORPG, i'd say its an MMOAG... there are worse games, but generally speaking i think games like COH/COV are better..

And just becuase you have a negative opinion of the game your numbers are non random? wheres the evidence with your numbers? Oh, your negative opinions are the evidence?

Your post as no more point then the OP that your trying to slam ...kinda pointless I guess.

Random numbers? Well, those numbers are my ratings of that aspect of the game. If you call it random, that's your evaluation. For me they are not random, for you they are random.

Which other PC MMO gets the 7-8-9-10 / 10 then ? Maybe, just maybe AOC has better graphics. DCUO has much better graphics compared to any other MMO out there.

Combat is the strongest part of this game (more than graphics). If you rate it 5/10 then all other MMOs (except maybe AOC again or GW) should get lower points. It's fast and fun. Period.

Yes, quests are kill 10 of this 10 of that type of thing but most quests have a storyline behind that and leading to a villain/hero eventually. I did not get bored while doing quests. You did? Too bad for you.

PvP is fast and fun. Yesterday, with my level 20 toon I beat up a level 30 player. I couldn't do it in any other game.

Initial choices are not too many but there are tons and tons of armor sets and a combination of those in game, where you can chose to make it look differently. There are also tons of different gear with various stats. I personally liked this.

I thought that stats like dominance, toughness/defense are well thought and much different compared to the general MMO genre stats.

A gadget toon can beat up a fire, a nature toon can beat up a mental, a mental toon can beat up ice. Any power/weapon combo can beat up any other. It's not like a rogue char waste a caster 99% or a DPS tank steamrolls any other class as in other classic (!) MMOs. Yes, class balance is perfect in this game.

UI.. 6/10 its not great.. but i have seen worse.. much much worse..

UI needs improvement. It's the worst part of DCUO.

In game voice is not horrible but social is also very weak in DCUO. I agree.

It has been almost flawless launch and there are not too many bugs at release compared to any other MMO releases. In general, this game is quite fun and entertaining.

It's not perfect, but it's far from "fail" either.
