Star Wars Galaxies Producer Tony "Teesquared" Tyson has published the January 2011 edition of the monthly producer's update. In the article, Tyson talks about Galactic Civil War 2, the recent Wookie Life Day, the forthcoming Ewok Festival of Love and a lot more.
The Ewok Festival of Love is coming up. It will be running starting around February 10th and ending in about 4 weeks from then around March 10th. In general, you can count on all the various game events lasting for about 4 weeks. Since we have the decoration system, 4 weeks is a good amount of time to enjoy the event and the decorations without feeling like it's dragging out or ending too quickly.
For this year's EFoL, we will have a decoration wand and we've also added some event specific storyteller props. I know you cannot get enough of that chocolate fountain . For this year, we have a new badge and some fun new rewards plus a couple of variations of some of the classic rewards from the event. And there will be a new storyteller vendor as well. You can probably guess what he or she will be.
When we run events like Wookiee Life Day and Ewok Festival of Love, remember that you pick up your publish gift from the event. It's not automatically added to your inventory on log in. You still get a gift; it's just part of the events when they are running.

Ten Golden Rules Of Videogame Fanboyism
"SOE has probably united more gamers in hatred than Blizzard has subs"...daelnor
Honestly, I do keep on wondering why they keep on investing in this game.. It didn't live up the expectations and they don't seem to be seriously trying to make something GOOD of it. Make it F2P or shut down the servers would be an idea. Especially when SWTOR comes around.
But it is "Star Warsy and iconic"...right?
Is there some sort of list of lame content that SWG is relegated to as to what they can use to develop with as far as the Star Wars universe goes??I'm having a hard time figuring out why they keep using whatever little resources they get developing things I couldn't possibly see as a big desire by the gaming community (or are the people playing SWG now just that different).
but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....
I can't believe that they have the subs to keep the gerbils in the server fresh much less add/recycle content.
Take note DCUO crew, this will be you in 3 years.
/facepalm
While I think the festival of love is as silly as it can get for an event, with its flying ewok cherubs, wearable cherub wings and other crap, the Galactic Civil War content is actually a lot of fun.
So even though I dont play SWG anymore, Im curious to see what they are planning for the next GCW update.
Insult all you want, as a Pre-Cu Vet, recently some back, it may not be Pre-Cu, but it's better then 99% of the games offered.
Yes, I can back that up with facts.
They havent had to develop it its existed for the last 3 years just spewed out every year.
Like the sound of meaningful space GCW sadly only 5 years too late, hjal's talents are seriously being wasted on SWG go on dude get that application put in at Bioware
you better launch classic sandbox server , oh my..
As one of the pre-CU vets who liked the CU (Star Wars is a gun driven universe, people with big hammers should be gunned down, not the toughest fighters in the game) I can tell you you're full of it. The CU happened because the devs listened to the players. The NGE occurred because of a "test group" and the devs stopped listening to players from that point forward. Find something worth your time to play.
