Steve Jackson was the man with some of the games he put out. He was the godfather of automotive mayhem. I certainly hope AA captures some of that fun. I can still recall doing runs from Florida to New York hauling cargo and fighting off everything from biker gangs to rogue truckers.

Yeah, wow, the memories I have of all weekend-long sessions of Car Wars, LOVED that game, can't wait for AA.

Someone posted about Auto Assault on the WoW boards and I instinctively thought of Auto Duel, I was planning on making a post here but guess someone beat me to it. Anyways, Auto Duel was a great concept and game for it's time, hopefully AA turns out to be as much fun in a 2005 MMO.

lol, yeah, my youth and well, my not-quite-so-youth
Hell I still try to get some good ole pencil and paper tabletop gaming in as often as possible. MMORPGs are great and all but nothing beats sitting around with your friends going through an adventure one of you completely created and prepared for the rest of the group.

I remember wasting many an hour on Auto Duel. I sure do hope AA is close to that game. it was one of my all time favorites. but I always did like driving and crashing into things...

Tomorrow doesn't look good either.
Oh man - Car Wars was my initial thought when I first head about AA. My second thought was Road Warrior and Mad Max. I used to go to this RPG convention around here called RedCon... and when the traditional gaming (Cyberpunk, Shadowrun, AD&D) went sour, we'd play CarWars for a day.
God that was fun... and geeky.
