Guys... Even with the minor hiccups today with log in and overcrowding on servers I'm completely sold on this game. I know what I want to roll and how I'm going to play during my journey to cap. I have my six month sub and I'm not looking back. I spent today jumping from rift to rift and gathering material in between. My champion zoomed from mob to mob with ease, the combat is better than it was and the combat animations are stellar. I no longer need to play anymore beta events. I'll be right here waiting on Feb 24th knowing full well how awesome this game is.

Disclaimer: I am enjoying Rift and have already preordered it.
I hate to say this but I'm starting to dislike these posts.
They are so much cannon fodder for the haters of this game. I am enjoying this game too, but it is not "the next big thing™". I have gotten my hopes up before because of posts like these. Only to be let down because of the reality that all MMO's are pretty much the same.
I realise that OP is not so Fanboish as some other posts, but Rift is not groundbreaking at all. Just a little different. I hope I'm not coming off as a asshole, I'm not really, I just don't like hyperbole in either direction.

I'm close to being sold myself actually.I would og said no way after Beta Event 1 but the amoutn of work they've put in and the massive changes and improvements they've made between then and now are impressive.
Also yes the current server side lag is annyoing but stress testing must be done.
I am not completely sold --- yet. Close though. I will say that this thing is very polished. I love the graphics, just need more hair styles for females. Animations are smooth. Very detailed world. Lots of options. UI is good. Characters jump way to high --- not a biggy, but just looks funny. Love the combat so far. Playing a Cleric(so we have a new game for healing classes - with tons of potentially different styles of game play options here) and a Rogue to see how the different archtypes pan out. Love the options of multi-classing! So many combos...I dunno how they are ever going to balance this for PvP.
Still have more to check out.
This is my first impression though. It is like they took WoW and improved it. In fact it is WoW - but it seems to take many of the annoying things in WoW like poor itemization seems to be gone from this game. Quest rewards make sense! Lot more character progression in this game then WoW. So far I am very impressed for "what it is". It's the way WoW should look graphics wise as well.
Compared to most of the garbage that has come out the last few years - this game is really looking good. =] Coming from me, that says a lot. Might be the game I use to replace WoW until someone makes my Mount and Blade MMORPG!
I'm so stoked that YOU took the time out from testing the game to figure all that out. I for one, would not want you finding any bugs before the game get's released.
Best MMO in a long long time
Sounds to me like he's been testing quite a few things. Rifts, mobs within, Champion soultrees and their abilities, Gathering Profesions and so on.

Sounds to me like he is doing what he is suppose to do. Play the game and report what happens. He is doing Rifts, collecting mats, making stuff. What is he doing wrong?
The game is great. It started off slow and disappointing for me in the beginning, but the longer I played it, the better it got, and the more I enjoyed it. Definately subbing to it as I don't have an MMO to play until Guild Wars 2 comes out (I'm an original GW junkie of 5+ years), and also because I've got a fansite to maintain :P

You don't feel frustrated or trapped in the game, I assume, you feel free to wander about the world as if your character lived in it?

Gratz, it is really hard to find a MMO that fits a certain individual.
For me it is amusing but not really what I am looking for.
Way hey! Someone got ahold of a computer! Grats!
I'm in the same boat as you about being overly critical. So far I like what I see but I'm far from sure I'm sold enough to buy the game when it comes out. I'll just have to keep kicking the tires and see how the higher levels are.

Just want to say I am happy for you Rockgod. Personally I am not sure if I can bring myself to log in for this event because this time around as I felt previous iterations just gave me the same thing and there is no indication this would be any different. However, I will say the game leaves with an opinion of being above average to date in most areas that one would mark on.
I think I may sit out till a month after release and then see what people are saying about the later stages of the game and content there. If there is positivness then I may take a 6 month sub too leading up to TOR and GW2 as a filler.
The concept of Rifts on paper is neat but not always in practice. Having a full beta server and no one in your neighbourhood quest hub to help defeat the guys that have over-run it preventing you from turning quests in can be annoying after a while. Enough so to make you get bored in hanging around waiting for them to die or naturally move on. They should work on the quest chain events so this doesn't happen to often as it is totally population in your area controlled and outside a soloer's hands tbh. (not that I didn't enjoy the first 20 times)
I have now pre-ordered the game, I didnt even thought about playing this game before, I wasnt really expecting much tbh something along the lines of WAR, unpolished and clunky, I was well surprised to find out how polished it feels, the animations are absolutely great ( after the WAR debacle I was expecting the same animation system clunky and unresponsive ), Trion did a really good job.
The classes feel great and I am glad I dont get pushed into a single class, the calling is general enough that I know I want to play a warrior but, I really like the fact I can then make up my own class out of it.
Anyway to those of you that did enjoy the game, I suppose I will see you there.
+1 preorder :]
See you guys ingame.

Ha, so you didn't need to kill him after all
On topic ... didn't get in last night (EU 8pm) except for once. Only had a 2 hour window and the queue on Cloudborne was +600.
When I got in my avatar didn't show on screen. Maybe some new graphical settings I don't know about.
Will try again tonight.
Whats your soul build btw if I may be so bold to ask.
I'm looking to try out a warrior build which does good dps and is strong enough to get into the thick of fights. I do not have any prior experience when it comes to warriors tbh.
Tried Rogue: didnt quite feel good to me allthough I like to dps a lot. Maybe had to do with the energy issues, and it seems those got addressed. Anyone got some feedback on that?
Cleric: has been my main for last 3 betas: kinda like it, but need more dps in pvp, so will try out a build with Shaman (crazy I didn't try that yet é
No matter what class I'll roll I am sold to. But its important to me to make the right class decision because I only have time to raise one to maturity.
Well, the callings are quite versatile, but you need to pick the one that you feel is more fun for you.
