Okami (drawing on the screen without pausing the game is no good)
Red Faction: Guerilla (probably too easy to ruin the mission with 5 people destroying the environment)
50 Cent: Blood on the Sand (would be awesome, but you'd need a way to upload custom taunts)

1. Super Mario Brothers (could steal from any aspect of their stories/games)
One of the few people that kept it original. I posted Donkey Kong 64 in the second post of this thread (same reasons as you I suppose).
I think it is the only way out for mmorpg's these days.
Have some very original settings in which you can play in a bright world with a zillion possibilities to solve puzzles and play hundreds of mini games and progress the character.
Attention for those not knowing DK64, it was full 3D (nothing like DK country) and it is still a blast to play and solve the puzzles. A pity it is not on the list of Nintendo downloads for the Wii (due to copyright problems).
1: GTA Online / Saints Row online - Online GTA style game with cartoony style graphics (not like GTA IV) and not too realistic. More focus on fun, events, minigames, PvE missions (like GTA Singleplayer), PvP (Gangs, Lone wolf, Hitman/Assassin missions?), Influence style system. (Would need alot of work, looks good on paper but it would need alot of brilliant ideas to be a success)
2: Pokemon Online (Official) - Uses every Pokemon for all series, PvE content (fight boss Pokemon) and PvP (Battles). You can go into tall grass, surf, fish, go in caves, to find Pokemon. This concept is hard to make, you can't make an MMO with the intent of getting badges, beating the elite four, then what? So yeah would need thinking outside the box. There is alot of Facebook style Pokemon multiplayer browser games, but I'd like a game similar to WoW that is Pokemon.
3: Elder Scrolls MMO - Huge Open world, ability to own a house / forts or castles. Own an Empire, do small, medium or large dungeons, First person based (Third person the same as Oblivion, usable but not supported). There is tons that could be put into this game, where do I begin. Balancing would be the real problem, and PvP?
I would like to see mostly Star Trek MMO which is realy star trek but.. nvm.
1. Pharaoh (not mmorts but mmorpg)
2. Dune
3. Unreal Tournament
Played: Lineage 2,Guild Wars 1 and 2, Age of Conan, Ragnarok Online, LOTRO, World of Warcraft, League of Legends, EvE online Tried: KAL Online, Face of Mankind, ROSE online Playing: CS:GO
1) Red Dead (Redemption was epic and proved a Western setting can be appealing)
2) Something along the lines of Uncharted or Indiana Jones.
3) Magic the Gathering oO.... I know, I know, but come on... Defeating bosses, conquering territory, converting them into cards, dueling others with said cards, some day man some day lol.
baldurs gate is Dungeons and dragons universe which has an MMO that already exists. Same goes for planescape and never winter nights.
Honestly I can't think of any current universe I'd like to see MMOfied.
Maybe populus, but you would play as the humans instead. Theres kind of a lack of games overall that are set in time periods that are earlier then medieval.
3. Shining Force (1 or 2, no preference but only these 2)
Edit: Damn so hard to only choose 3 i was struggling to choose but Castlevania, Brigandine, Resident Evil were also on my tops. Top 3 is too short, should be a top 5 :P
Comments
1) Psychonauts (instead of dungeons, you have missions into someone's mind. Only limited by the developers' creativity)
2) Bayonetta (pure ridiculousness, active combat, 10ft tall librarian dominatrix bullet witches)
3) Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem (sanity meter, awesome insanity effects)
Honorable mentions:

I like this thread a lot.
A lot of fun and good perspective.
But I vote Rockstar making a MMORPG in any setting, hell JOUST Online. For all of Bioware's hype R* is the top developer not in the market.
Please, post only list of 3 chosen non-MMO games in this thread. So the thread will be more comfortable to read
1. Shadowrun (both P&P and crappy FPS game)
2. Runequest (P&P)
3. CIV.
