Everquest 2 or star wars galaxies?

Hey everyone,

I want to subscribe to one of these games but I have no clue which. Ive tried them both before but neverreally got that far into them. I am looking for some sweet crafting and housing system. Both worlds seems intriguing but I really cant decide which one to pick. Has anyone played both and can give me an idea on which one to pick?

Thanks!

They both feel relatively similar in a couple aspects including the plethora of fluff items found in both games, appearance armor, and housing systems, but I think you'll find more content in EQ2.  In fact, you're almost assured to find more people to play through that content as well.  SWG still has a healthy population on a couple servers and has always intrigued me (though I've never gone beyond level 50), but it seemed to me that most content below the level cap just doesn't get used anymore.

The biggest issue with SWG is that it feels like a huge grind at times.  You're looking at grinding through 90 levels (most of which come fairly quickly) and around 50 or so come from a single questline that takes you from planet to planet.  The problem is, you basically repeat the same routine over and over again.  You'll get a quest to go to some waypoint.  There you'll find a bunker.  You go into the bunker and clear out all the enemies.  You get a quest update which tells you that you have to locate a specified number of some object.  You find the specified number of said object, then you go back for another quest.  Be prepared to do that multiple times on pretty much every planet.  Content outside of that huge questline begins around level 50 and comes in chunks.  Occasionally you'll have many quests to do, and sometimes you'll be forced to grind at mission terminals for a few levels.  There's tons of content at the level cap though, but I've never gotten that far.

SWG still has the best housing sytem of any game I have played.

I dont care for the game but its housing is best.

IMHO - Both of fairly sub-standard MMO's at this point but if you liked them then who cares what I say... If your big focus is housing and crafting both games have some depth in that field so go on whether you like Sci-Fi or Fantasy and you might land where you want.

If you're not happy, move on and try the other.
