I remember back in the old days when DAoC came out. I remember I found my heart set on Midgard Ranger. it was good, but the leveling dragged out. And it's been a very long time down the road. I've read some old reviews. I've seen so many negatives about the game. I don't know if it's someone trolling because they can, or if it's truth.
Why do I say this? I'll be honest. I've played World of Warcraft so long...I'm thoroughly done with it. The community is...well lets not mince words here, horrible. Got to 85 and was....blah. "Ok, after six-seven years of this, I've had enough."
If I come back to Dark Age, I want it to be for the right reasons. I want to be able to relax. To not feel like I have to rush rush rush to get anywhere. But I also want to be among people that are pleasant, mature, and on occasion helpful. Roleplay is a big thing for me as it adds depth and immersion. But it isn't the be all and end all. I solo alot. But that's just because I deal with idiots all day at work, and sometimes the interaction just isn't there for me. I like to just kill things alone.
So I guess this leads to my questions after boring people with details:
1) How is the community of DAoC? As I said I like Midgard because of the classes there. Which server is best known for their RP community or their friendly community. I understand that not all servers are created equal.
2) Will I be able to solo and, if needed, be able to group at times along the way to the final level?
Ok...so I can only think of two questions at this point. 9 hours at work can fry a person's brain XD

community- smaller than most by now, but those that are left make it a much more mature and rp friendly environment than wow for sure, this applies to both the official game server and those that are independent
soloing- ive never had a problem either grouping or soloing in daoc over all the years with multiple classes/realms...like you said, Im in no rush either to level and there are plenty of quests along the way in each city to help when not grouping in a dungeon or prime area
Glad to see Dark Age of Camelot is up and running still. I just hope Mythic and EA add something more to keep its current players playing and maybe add a load more players. How many active players are playing Dark Age of Camelot at the minute?
There are I bleive usually about 1000 on during peak time over at the ez/mythic server but dont quote me, you can always check out the page for a current tally on their servers, I dont play there anymore and choose to play the classic version like it was meant to be on a different shard...om me if you wanna know the shard and prefer the golld old fashioned classic daoc the way it was meant to be....
