Realm Of Fae Difficulty Bug?

GeowashGeowash Member Posts: 372

I was in Realm Of Fae last night, going through it once so I can film my second time in. So we started pulling, wiped once cause of a bad pull, but after that it was smooth. Then we hit the first boss. I looked at a strat online and it said to kill the blue fairy first and the green fairy last, then boss. We tried that, and our warrior tank got two shotted. So we tried the other fairy, our tank got one shotted. I looked at my tanks gear and he was fine, we didnt have this problem durring trash pulls, those were really smooth. So I was wondering, since there is obviously bugs in a beta, did the difficulty switch say FU to us? Or did we do the fight wrong? Cause RiftJunkies said this fight was easy.

PS: Im not asking for a nerf, but im asking for a reason why we were wiping. Im wondering were we doing the strat wrong? Also note that one of the people in my group said that it should be easy, but for some reason its like a heroic mode of hell. We were not sure why, my only explaination was a difficulty bug. But hey, it was pretty to look at.

It is not a bug.  I will not give you the answer but instead suggest you take a look at the buffs the mob is placing on themselves and I think that will resolve your problem.

Hmm, not sure Geo I wish I could offer help.  I have done Realm of the Fae three times and my groups didn't encounter very much difficulty on any portion of these runs.  Healing was a bit scary in there though, I had many panic moments and some party members did die a few times but overall made it through each mob encounter.  I did these runs on different evenings and none of us knew any of the fights the first time or read any strategies.

Yeah one of the members was in there before and he said its not that hard. Or its not suposetobe. He actually thought we got glitched into a hard difficulty... and based off the trash mobs the boss shouldnt have been that hard since we all knew what to do. But we got 2 shotted lol. Ill go in there today and hope for the best haha.

I was just trying to help you sonny.  No reason to act so agressove.  I have no idea what the guide said nor why you would read the a guide in the 1st place.  But if you actually read the buff on the mob you were attacking ratheryou might understand why your tank was dying and notice that your parties actions were the reason the tank was taking damage.

Even knowing and following the right strategy going in, that first boss in RoF is orders of magnitude more difficult than the rest of the instance. This is something that I posted about during the second or third beta event. I haven't seen anything indicating that they changed it. I don't necessarily think that hard bosses is a bad thing certainly, but considering the discrepancy in difficulty between this first boss in the instance and the rest of them, it should probably be looked at...

Yeah seemed like a simple kill damage buff guy kill damage reduction guy and kill boss. But nope.

True. I've just read this guide and what it doesn't say and is very helpful (not to mention obvious) is that tank should kite boss as long as elites are alive or atleast as long as boss has dmg increase buff. I guess that's was their case. Or dpsers tried to take out both elites at the same time or tank trying to tank all mobs together which may not work here

Yeah we tryed that as well, but the first time the tank was one shotted, the second two shotted. I think it was either the Tank having shit gear or wrong spec, or it was the healer.

Well it may happen. If tank was 1 shotted then possibly something wrong with tank or bad luck simply. 2 shots tho are something normal which is why tank needs to kite boss.  Healer also shouldn't be afraid of wipe cos if healer doesn't act wipe will happen anyway so healer simply should stand so he can cover whole room not just where boss is initially.

We have recently done it with in pt with cleric as main heal and chloromancer for off heals. Chloromancer at 17 should already have both bloom and group heal as instants and should be able to help alot not just on this boss but later on too. Tank was warrior level 17 in greens only from quests.
