Rift is by far the best MMORPG to have come out in over 6 years. I understand some people are scared that there will be a mass exodus from there current games when Rift launches. Some times the grass really is greener on the other side...

In beta,
I've uninstalled the game twice and it was free to play.
The King shall wait and save his cash for a real mmorpg.
I never like to play games at launch so I have no plans to start that day.
I think I'm going to try it for a while...maybe untill I hit level cap on both factions, about a month, then I won't play it again I predict. It doesn't seem different enough for me to 100% ditch WoW for it, but since my sub for WoW ends Feb 2, I might as well take a break.

If you have played beta 1-4 your opinion is of less interest? Its the exact same game plus a couple of new contents so whoever played them cannot possibly really contribute to this thread because they didn't run the new dungeon but the game mechanics they experienced didn't matter anyway? The polls are horribly bias as well, where is the option if you genuinely like the game?troll thread.

I've leveled a few toons to lvl 20+ in the RIFT betas, but unfortunately i won't be buying it. It's not that its a bad game, it's just that all the aspects of the game one might call "WOW-like" are aspects i've long since gotten tired and bored of from playing WOW for 4-5 years. Thats really too bad cause i was following this game for a while now, and looking forward to it. I can only hope GW2 will provide the new mmo experience i'm looking for. We'll see.
I'll probally not bother with rift period, feels way to much like a biliant wow clone and the devs didn't really even try to mask it too well. Combat is boring and uninventive, Game feels like its a onrails shooter. I tried to like Rift but I couldn't get into it, felt way to much as a "Been there done that" type of mmorpg. With not enough new or unique idea's to keep me and others intersted. I am sure rift will get enough subs to be successful though, But i'd pin the game in the 30k-100k subs mark after the first free month and people relize that its just yet another wow clone on the market. I honestly haven't found a game that deserves the title wow clone as much as Rift has at least in the p2p market. It feels like wow, plays like wow, even has some skills directly copied from wow with virtually the same skill descriptions.

To me the only reason it seems like people wont start playing rift because they dont want to leave their wow toon that they have put 3+ year game play on

A solid 17-18 people are voting no. Wow this is a productive thread. 18 seems like a lot compared to the hundreds of thousands that have the game pre-ordered and are eager to play.
I can't decide yet. I like it just fine, but I think I'll wait and see how the game goes during it's first month or so before I decide to make a purchase.

Nice thread but the poll shouldn't exist, not due to bias but because it's somewhat pointless.
You are fully aware this game a clone of 2-3 other games right ? , doesnt bring anything new or inovative really that isnt seen in other games, just called different things.
Best game to come out in over 6 years ? , hmmmm lets see whats been released the last 6 years, WoW was released 6 years ago 11 feb. next month, so it doesnt beat that, you have allready lost on that statement.
Havent played wow in ages though, have no interest in the game anymore my self.

I'm glad you asked. My goal was not to play the versus game. My goal was to see who tried the beta 5 but decided the game wasn't for them because it was a clone. Then get a conversation going about why people feel that way based on the content currently available. Not what content was available at build 1-4

I apologize to those in advance that would have liked to express they liked the game in the poll. But as already mentioned I didn't create it to do a side versus side.
I was pretty excited about this game.
I pre-ordered after beta 3, I was really excited about the soul system and creating my own class. But I've come to realize the soul system is just another novelty in a game full of rehashed features. The graphics are excellent, the client is extremely stable and fast, everything works great, but it's just not fun for me.
This game feels more linear than almost any other game I've played. I like adventuring in a world that feels alive with freedom and choices. It seems like Trion is focusing on keeping the game simple so they can perfect the few features the game has. Which is good, because they've developed a very stable game. But at the same time, it makes the game too linear and shallow.
Sadly, I'll be cancelling my pre-order.
WoW was released Nov 23, 2004. At least get your facts straight before trying to make a point.
How can you post a poll with only one possible result. This makes absolutely no sense. What are you basing the results off of??
This appears ready-made for generating flames and bashing comments. Posting polls is fine, but perhaps not so skewed as to invite almost nothing but ire next time. Locking this up.
