Tabula Rasa: New Site and Screens

AdminAdmin Administrator RarePosts: 5,623

NCSoft has launched a brand new site for Tabula Rasa today which coincides with the E3 Expo in Los Angeles.  It features a lot of new information on the game as well as a ton of new screen shots.  The site features this comment:

The changes and updates reflect the new direction this massively multiplayer game has taken since it was introduced to the public a year ago. In addition to a completely new visual style, www.playtr.com features a collection of screenshots from the new game design, recent concept art, team bios, and an interactive section introducing several new monsters.

We urge you to check out the new official site at this link.  We have also added 23 new screen shots from the new site to our own gallery for Tabula Rasa.  A sample of these is below:

These shots look fantastic.I wonder what engine they use...and will it be optimized so lower configs can run it as well.Weird but i have a strange feeling that these are renders and not shots made in-game.image

Wow, from the brief bit that I have read, it seems like they have completely changed the game from how it used to be.

I think the new direction is a lot better then the previous incarnation. Its like PlanetSide meets Anarchy Online. I'm glad that there is still some Anime influence in the art and that they didn't completely scrap that aspect. Before, I thought there was too much Anime. I wasn't interested in TR before, but I'm certainly looking forward to hearing more about it now.

Gotta say I like the new direction. The past fantasy/scifi setting was nice but I'm digging the FPS style look. :)

Ah, so they took over Anarchy Online II? Nice, I like it.

Well...to be honest..I'm a bit underwhelmed, TR was set to be one of the more original looking MMO's to be released.

and now..Neocron/AO/PS wannabe vibes just seems to permeate the design, atleast what they have shown us.

    sigh....oh well..atleast it's still a Sci-Fi setting..let's hope that holds true..

It does strike me as AO with a better look to it.  But then again I liked the concept of AO though so not exactly a bad thing.  I was expecting WoW in space so I'm pretty happy with how it's shaping up.

    New Direction = DUMBED DOWN!!

I hate the way consoles are destroying PC games. It is because of the rise of consoles, and the pre-teenage boys that play on them, that games are now turning into "point-click-shoot" fests.

What happened to depth of game play?

What happened to flexibility in game design and options on how you play?

That has all gone out the window with games now turning into twitch shooters.

Speaking of which, if this game is going to turn into a twitch shooter, then us gamers from Australia can might as well forget playing this game. If you ever tried to play Quake 3 with a 300+ ping, you know what I am talking about.

If this game is twitch based, then I will NEVER play it, as I will have a snow ball's chance in hell of ever getting anywhere with it.

I'm not really a expert on these issues but I don't think it would be aiming like a fps.  Yes some people would like that but I doubt you would get many people wanting to play it from the WoW/GW/EQ2 ect crowd if you had to.  Hopefully they can clear that up Thursday when they show off the game.
