Looking to go back to an older game...

Hey there, after waiting for Rift and now trying it in the open beta i found out it's not for me, it has a deja-vu feeling all over it.

Anyway now that i'm sure i wont buy this game i think i'll go back to an older game while waiting for something new. Some games i've played: Warhammer online, Aion, Age of Conan, LOTRO, Darkfall...

I played most of them just a few months after the release. So did any of them improve? Which ones are still alive and why should i check them out again? Other suggestions are also welcome, thanks.

I played LOTRO for about 2 months after it's release, took a break, and started again 2 months before Mines of Moria and 1 month after it. I'd recommend it since I love the lore, quests, and the monster play. You just have to make sure you get on one of the populated servers. I think Brandywine is the one people gravitate towards. I found it moderately easy to find groups, but you don't really need one except for the end of every chain of quests i.e. bosses. Monster play is fairly littered around peek hours and I spent countless hours playing on both sides. A really easy game to get back into.

LOTRO was pretty good but i didn't play it very long, it just didn't have much new things to offer. Sure the quests etc are fun but other than that i got bored pretty quickly. I guess it's fun to play a few hours a week but it's just not addicting, which is what i'm looking for.
