Ok I'm wrong there... you didnt announce it was available, just the details of the collectors edition. My bad.

I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

As long as players keep supporting dev's that make the same old tired game - they'll keep making it.

Vote for change with your wallet.

Rift is a good game - but it's old school, the combat is stiff and clunky, the quests are linear, the pvp instanced.

/Sign me, still waiting for a truly innovative game.

One that rocks the genre and is worth a $15.00 per month sub.

You know, I am just not feeling that stiff and clunky combat others talk about.  I play WoW, and I have played many other games, and I think this game has fluid and exceptional combat for what it is - I'd put it besides WoW's combat any day and say that Rift's is actually smoother and much more responsive.    In Rift you can move and cast, melee can circle strafe...range can run and gun.   You cannot do that in WoW.   In WoW and many other MMORPG's some melee strikes, archer shots and caster magic you must stand still to perform.   I never encountered this in Rift.   PvP is actually where this really shines.    I was on my Cleric running around casting, melee'ing, circle strafing to my hearts content.  It was actually more fun than the combat I was use to in WoW.

    The last 2 things I pre-ordered:

    Warhammer online

    Star Trek Online

    not thanx...

Will wait 1 month after release to see where this game is going

So same old is not buying , then i recommend people to cancel all there MMORPG subscription .

Delete there account , and do something else with there lives .

Honestly sometimes I wonder how people can be rational but so Noobishe .....

If SB placed it again , cause they have a deal to place this again .

The preorder is beter money then most new games offer .

But the negativity about new games is reaching a cliche this year .

Thank god investors are not listening , but if investors ever listen to the crap sprung around .

All games in development would be canceled .

If its not your cup of tea , so be it , but saying its the same old while people are playing OLDER games.

Makes people look a bit double moral doesn´t it ?

I would like to preorder and jump on the bandwagon. But so far far there's no word on what they plan to do with their horrible overall client performance/scaling.

I'm afraid the process of optimizing the client will take month, if they'll ever really get a grip on it using the Gamebryo-engine.I can almost see alot of people cancel about that issue within the next month. So thanks, no preorder for me.

I agree that it is nothing new in a game, Similar to AIons pvp feel (rifts and such) mixed with warhammers Senerio que system ( but way slower and less options ). I do like that it does run smooth, and fairly lag free thats good.

+ Good beta's little lag shows they worked hard on it.

    +Some ok pvp

    + FX

+++A= The soul system allows alot to be flexed great job on it.

    - Lack of char. customizing pretty bland

    - Pvp combat there is much to be desired

    - Basic fetch and find Quest system

    - Warfronts are pretty basic and not to interesting after a few.

    - Class balance issues

Over all, I give the game about a 6.5 on a 10 scale, it will not do much better than warhammer/Aion after a few months I think.

I too wonder what the endgame will be like but thus far RIFT seams although generic is by far far the best mmo to have been released since Warcraft exploaded onto the scene 6 years ago . It does have some similarities to other mmos like Warhammer but the fact is if Warhammer had anythiing like half the potential RIFT has I would still be playing it now . Neither is it a grindfest like AION nor is it bugged and totally linear like Age of Conan . There are no games to really to compare its early game and mix of pve and pvp except for Warcraft . In a way it reminds me more of Vanilla WoW than anything . I did the realm of the fae instance at level 17 and you know what it was'nt facepalm easy like comparable instances of similar levels in Warcraft . Depending on what GW2 and Tera are like I reckon if RIFTs endgame is any good then it will offer the only viable fantasy alternative to WoW burnouts and players looking for a decent new mmo . Fact is if you don't like this game ( which is about as good as its likly to get for a while ) then I would strongly suggest you give up on fantasy mmos for the next 5-10 years because its unlikly any will please you . Maybe try a scifi one instead . Rumour has it that the game has already over 1 million pre-orders how true this is remains to be seen but if true then it could release to a similar number of players that originally played Warcraft upon release . I have some doubts I don't like games that only have a couple of starting areas , I wonder if the world is big enough for and mmo (looking at the map)  and of course the endgame is very important . From what I've seen of it though this game does look like a lot of fun and the quality is certainly there in the early levels at least . I've not pre-ordered yet but I am going to . It is the first mmo I've enjoyed this much since Vanilla WoW and I've played every major mmo release since and none match it other than Rift .Quite frankly I can't wait and my gut instinct tells me this is going to be big and normally I'm pretty sceptical .

Please consider this before buying , I was in Warhammer Beta , yelling on roof how great the game was. I must admit i was also one of the first to leave that linear game, that i wanted to love so much . Some peoples from other forums did tell me about it , but i could not even consider what they were saying, I was blinded.

I can almost guarantee this is reproducing, Objectivity is a hard thing to manage in ourself. Have you  ever fall in love with a girl that does not like you ? You loved her , with passion and it blinded you from seen that ... there was no possibility ? Even more, she was a real ***** .

There is almost no difference here, This game as some very bad flaws and been blinded is the only way that can explain the Buzz . This game as cheapness in it's core design. I am not trying to break it's Buzz , in the bottom i really don't care. I am trying to expose how easy it is to lie to ourself.

I expect flaming, this post will hurt the new and soon dying Rift crusader like personnality's. But after , when it's all over , can you admit to yourself how delusional you were? There maybe, lies human maturity.

Flame on , I still like you.

There are 13 million WoW players who may find it similar enough and yet new. Its stable. The dev team is community friendly. The graphics on max are amazing and running very well on high end.

People will buy this game is masses. TOR and GW2 are not even close to open beta.

I bought it - just for the fun of playing. And the class system. I am not a great fan of the theme park PvE so a bit PvP experimentation is due. There is nothing better unless you like action games (which I don't).

as many has said before, there is nothing now under the sun,

    on the other hand:

for once it seems a game company can CODE a game with decent quality,

<<< 0 bugs, map stuck, or anything on both beta 3,4.

a game company that does beta and update the game in betas, I.e not cryptic that rush games out without even testing them or even with not more of a month game time.

for once a game that feels polish, everything is in the details, and trion got the details done to the inch, yes some character creation improvement, but overall, it feels as it can go live now and it will still be fun to play,

devs that LISTEN and ACT on what the community has to say.

i can go on. ive played prob over 35-50 mmorpgs in the last 2 years (some  5 mintues and uninstall, some for months).

rift is one of the few that i realy had some nice time in it, and its still in beta.

^ I agree, is there any other game out there that can compete with rift that is a new game, polished ready to be launch, plus fun to play....no... so ive pre ordered. WoW is like been there, got the t shirt, bored to shit with it...

  • biogermbiogerm Member UncommonPosts: 168

i should also ad, ive laos pre ordered,

i wasnt to keen on rift to start with, the vidoes they have with the people saying" its a very soild game" made me feel not good about it, anyhow got drunk the other night and said, F it and im going to pre order rift for the gell of it. so i was going to beta with a "im going to hate this game so much" mode that i was sure im going to ever buy it.

it seems fate had other plans.also i got the Digital Collector’s Edition for less then the retail :)

(d2d had a 20% off on mmorpgs on that weekend, it was that or aION, un glad i choose rift. :) )

I have heard gamers say that Rift is a same-o compilation of systems from other games, but it depends on who you hear it from. It seems that Rift is using syatems from War, EQ2, AoC, LotRO, Vanguard, Aion, and the list goes on. This can be said about most, if not all games at some point, so it is up to the individual player on what he/she actually enjoys.

I entered into beta not expecting much, espercially after dealig with a very disappointing DCUO open beta, but was more than surprised. In fact, I had a great time and found myself always wanting to log back in (when i wasn't playing marathon sessions). It has been a long time since an MMO gave me that new game euphoria, and it is still only in beta.

Rift won't be the game for everyone, but it certainly will attract and retain players who appreciate a polished, well implemented game from developers that respect their customers.  If thisd game is not your cup of tea, I respect that and hope you find what you are looking for. For those that plan on playing Rift, I'll see you in game! image

I would agree I've spotted some potential flaws in the game but only potential ones and nothing at present which is a deal breaker to me . I would as I said earlier have liked to see mores starting areas . I too was in the Warhammer beta but it was nowhere near as good as RIFT as I said earlier if it had been half as good as Rift I would proberbly have still been playing it now .

I think the thing to do is be neither flamer or troll but look at it for what it is . Levels 1-20 ( as far as I've got ) its quite an exceptional game easily an equal to WoW in those levels . I also like the fact that it does'nt spoonfeed you rewards.Theres no way your going to level up by doing two battlegrounds on a double xp weekend and if you do an instance its not a foregone conclusion you will beat the boss or even get a reward everytime . As it stands I'm intregued to see where Trion are going to take it . I just hope they have more credibility than Blizzard .

I hope Trion offer a free trial in the first quarter after release even if its a short one . They have nothing to hide and unless they institutionalised by Warcraft I think most people will  like what they see .

Trion have nothing to hide unlike other previous mmo releases like AoC ,Vanguard or Warhammer . Nuff said .

it's either "the same old, same old" or "underdeveloped."  seriously people that believe this should just find a new hobby.  did you even play past lvl 10?  the rifts were like nothing else and the class system was awesome.  mind you it's a MMORPG so i don't know why you expect it to be insanely different.
