Reccomend a MMORPG

Hello everyone.

I would like to ask for an advice. I need a MMORPG to play and cannot find one right for me. The basic problems are:

1) I would prefer free to play MMORPG. Yes, I do know "you get what you pay for", but it's for leisure time only.

2) PVP eliminated: I have absolutely no luck in fighting human players. So, either no pvp or pvp in certain areas only (like Runescape).

3) No boring actions, like it was in Runescape: mine 200 ore, mine 2000 coal, make metal from them, advacnce to level X; mine 400 ore, mine 4000 coal, make metal from them, advance to level X+1...I abandoned Runescpae just because it was boring. Too little quests, too boring actions.

I have read about Runes of Magic and so far they almost fit me: I can flag myself as "no pvp", I can make quests, after certain lvl I can make powerfull runes. Is there anything that may suite me, except Runes of Magic?

PvE based? I recommend Cardmon Hero. The game feels like a normal MMORPG, but it's very open-ended in terms of character skill customization.

The meat of battle is the summons where you use cards to summon allies (if necessary). Those things have many different effects (some heal/increase stats, some AoE, some tank, etc.).

As for skills, you use skill cards and you can actually choose which ones you want. Just buy the cards. The skills you have, however, will be somewhat limited to what your chosen weapon will be, and "class" there is somewhat loosely defined. More like "specializations" actually. What do you want to do? Be better in close range? Magic DPS? or Summon Master? Just think up a good combination.

It's a really good game. For me though, I like Aika Global, but the game is centered on PvP. I mean, you can stay in PvE, but the PvP is where the fun is at. It's not just one-on-one either, it's hundreds (of actual players) on your side versus hundreds on your enemies' side.

You won't need to worry too much, but you need to be careful. On normal days, it usually looks like this (with plenty others right behind you, and many more still incoming)

    Or this:

    ...and there's no lag. XD

3 games comes to mind: DDO,( F2P). LOTRO(F2P) and GW (B2P).

No monthly costs on any of them, no open PvP. DDO and GW are CORPGs so they are instanced but fine games anyways.

GW cost some money initially but you can find a box really cheap and it does not sell items unlike the other 2, probably still cheaper in the long run. GW have a free trial, the other 2 are just to download and play.

    Good luck. :)

Guild Wars seem to be interesting, but I got a bit confused about their level system. Read something in our forum, but it did not help to understand.

As far as I know, the maximum level in GW is lvl 20. What happens when I reach this one - am I supposed to be unable to advance?  And what about pvp - how can avoid this? ROM simply offers unflag pvp so noone could stab me in the back...what about GW?

I tried ROM long time ago and back then when you hit certain level you cant change flags anymore, not sure how its nowadays.

    Lotro / DDO my recommendations.

The PvP is instanced and mostly arenas, you don't have to worry about it at all.

It is true, you reach max level pretty fast and then the game gets hard :)

But you do frankly reach max fast in any MMO today, in Wow it is often in a week. The number of levels doesn't really matter.

The skill system means you will have to get capture the better skills from bosses. Gear is not so much focus of the game, but it have a pretty good story (besides Factions) and rather different group dynamics than most games.

Just try the free trial and see if you like it, we can't really be sure of that but I myself have played it for years and still enjoy it. :)

And all have monthly fees, it is polite to read OPs post and not just the header before answering.

...And what about Everquest? I have read they have an f2p option. Is it worth a try?

Do you enjoy pay2win mmos? If you do, try Allods online, pretty decent mmo except that you will end up spending way more than a p2p mmo at endgame if you're serious about it and want to get anywhere. The player population is pretty low though, due to how extreme the pay2win factor is.

For me the best mmorpg out there right now is Fonline 2238.

     http://fonline2238.blogspot.com/  http://www.fonline2238.net/wiki/Main_Page

Ill make a new topic soon describing the game and why its fantastic. In a nutshell its a Fallout 2 mod that makes the game a mmorpg. Its in open beta currently, it wont cost a dime wgen its released and the devs are only asking for donations to keep the server running.

Its a full sandbox, open world, ffa pvp, full loot, skill based mmorpg. Yes. Yes it is. And i love it. There needs to be more word spreading about this game, believe me...  Please do check it out..

p.s. considering its full loot, ffa pvp, you'll die a lot, and get mad etc... butdont lose hope, cuz when you start "getting"the game and see just how many options the game has you'll fall in love.

p.p.s read the wiki! It has great info about the game, and what to do when you're starting out.. Good luck!

I have tried over 30 F2P mmorpg games, so I got some good tip for ya!

    1. If you live in Europe, go for Maestia, it is a must! http://maestia.bigpoint.com/

    2. If u live in the US, go for Vindictus, also a must! http://vindictus.nexon.net/

Maestia is a good F2P mmorpg with no "Pay To Win" cash shop and the game overall is really good and fun!

Vindictus is a "Hack n Slash", but if that is OK, then play it!

If you don't like any of these, then I recomend:

    - Aika (Kinda good and no pay to win cash shop)

    - Runes Of Magic (Fun, BUT, worst cash shop ever! Pay more = be better! Even more expensive then a P2P game!)

    - Lord Of The Rings Online! Good game, but it is not like in the movies. They made the game from the books, which is different.

    - Alganon (Pay 20$ or something and u get the whole game. Not a big player base tho, but a good game for what u pay)

    - Champions Online (Tried for 1 hour, not my cup of tea, but others like it)

If you like PVE and can pay some money, then buy Vanguard: Saga Of Heroes, a great and big game!

Or else, check out http://mmohut.com/ for more F2P games. Best site in the world for F2P games, imo!

    Hope it helped! :)

PS: The reason why I didn't mention like EQ2, Allods Online, and so on...is because you will have to pay alot to "have fun". Those game that I recomend are the best mmorpgs if you wanna have fun and play for free, as good as possible!

Thanks for an advide. Are all of these games - PvE (or at least - casn I choose to play PvE only as I can in RS)?
