Thank you for posting this. I can't wait to see the site when it's finally released. Bout time the RTS genre gets some long-deserved attention from a serious review site. :-P
Nice, interesting. I have a very good expirience in rts games but i am a little lazy and only write walls of text when it revolves around somethign i like a lot xD
Anyway hope you immidiately create a Ruse section since its one of the non-streotypical rts that dont revolve around clickfest and spam only but have a strategy on a competitive level whereas most current rts dont, top players know what their opponents could think, but they dont try to play mind games, they just go for their initial high effectiveness build order(What i said only counts for the top competitive community of rts, not mediocore 1v1s)
I already sent out an application. I sure hope I get accepted, seeing that I have an experience in a lot of genres and could really write some interesting stuff about RTS games.
This is going to be awesome I cannot wait. I'v been waiting for a well polished RTS site I'v looked through most of them and BLEH compared to how well this site is put together.
There is quite a lot of current and upcoming MMORTS's, so I guess the main idea was to get those on different site, being for completely different target audience than your average fantasy MMORPG. I suppose SC2 also brought RTS's somewhat back in the mainstream.
I'm delighted by this; strategy in all its forms is my favorite genre by far and I have a lot of ideas about how a game could be made. I don't quite understand why only real-time ones, though? It's not like having the name Strategy-Guru or the like would be much worse. There aren't too many TBS games these days, but they are the core of strategy gaming. There's couple active titles, that have both real-time and turn based components, such as Total War. There's RTS games, that make good use of the pause feature. If you exclude these, that leaves mainly the click hell, semi-strategy games.
It's unecessarily limiting to exclude them. Although there has been habit of including games of different genres on this site, so I wouldn't be surpised if TBS would be included despite the name. Hoping for some good writers, a lot more difficult to find with this genre.
I enjoy writing.. I have written several player reviews.. But my grammar sucks so i'll save you guys some time and not send in any application lol.. I'am going to college and takeing some basic english/creative writing classes though so hopefully that'll help with my grammar issues later on.
