I work at a webshop selling video games, and our distributor says that it will be released 09/23/11. The release dates often change, but it seems like September is Bioware's goal.
Gamestop has it pushed back to 1/2012 and they are in the bussiness to know. Plan on this date and if its released sooner you'll be pleasantly surprised.
I don't mind as long as they do open beta March till August then I'm game
QFT. I'd like to see the general polish / bug status of the game and at least a larger glimpse at the game before I get overly excited...
In the least, as long as it comes out sometime this year, they won't have much competition antagonizing it's release - so any delay is most likely a good thing (due to issue fixes, etc).

Open beta will begin one month before release. As for testing for bugs and junk, they are doing that now and have been since July.
This story has been out there since the 26th. Why did MMORPG.com wait until the 30th to report it? Are you guys just slow, or did you find a different source saying the same thing like actual journalists do?
On a different note, why do people cite retailers for release dates? Seriously? They've all changed their dates multiple times and they're still mostly different from each other, and yet people feel compelled to mention them as if they have any clue.
Dude, "Spring 2011" is in March and were a day away from February. This is less than 2 months away (March 21). We have no full-on discosure of the game, it's features, and everything else. You can barely find any full-beta gameplay videos. I haven't seen anything about an expanded beta program. Okay okay so let's say they release at the tail-end of "Spring 2011" and not the first day of spring (obviously). Now you are talking 5 months. Is it normal for a game that's 2-5 months away from release to have no real open discosure about itself?
We've known for awhile now that it wouldn't come out in March. Spring 2011 begins late in March and runs until about mid-June. If they release in June that's still five months so there's still plenty of time. Personally I'm betting on a May release. Besides they've released a ton of info, all we really lack is some of the details and I don't exactly expect them to give all of that away before release. I wouldn't expect them to release most of the newsworthy info until about a month or two before release anyway. So yes they can still make a spring 2011 release pretty easily if they have no problems. I'm not saying they won't postpone, but there's really no reliable information that suggests they will yet.
Probably pushing release back so when everyones had enough with WOW's new expansion and they'll all want to move on. TOR comes along and picks up 5 mil subs.

That hasn't happened yet?
Hopefully it will by Sept/Oct

I just checked with favorite gaming store and they said they have a street date of 03Jan2012. grrrrrr
Isn't that good news? It means they work harder and don't push a too early release. That's good, or not?

That January release date is just an estimated release. Nothing official has come from Bioware, so just ignore these predictions..
