Got the game yesterday, my thoughts, from having a lv 60 in WoW

at first, I didn't like the way everything was instanced. then, I grew to appreciate the better, smoother, graphics instancing allows, rather than seeing some other person and having to look at bad graphics. it weighs out better that way, the controls are fine, this is coming from a control freak who uses mouse/keyboard, the controls in this game are fine.

and it did seem a bit bland but then I got the big picture when I made the pre-build level 60 and started fooling around with those. the key word is >replayability<

one of my favorite games of all-time was master of orion ii, and the reason it was great was that it had alot of replayability. 11 different races to choose from or you could make your own custom race...gw is alot like that, necromancer rangers, warrior wizards, etc is all extremely cool once you see each one of them in action.

also coming from WoW and having a lv 60 toon on a high pop pvp server, I can tell you I prefer the pvp in guildwars, because everything isn't a zerg. it's 4v4, 8v8, w/e. no 4-5v1, and that's what happens alot of times in WOW. Either that or you end up with two 40 person raids running back and forth in Hillsbrad between the opposing faction bases; that isn't pvp.

-ps- rarely do I stay up all night after getting a game. still up and got it yesterday around 2pm.

    Thanks for your evaluation.

Guild Wars will make a great second game for you, when you want to take a break from WoW. I understand that WoW is still enhancing and updating their PvP, until then come and enjoy GW's arena's.

WoW is a great game, and Guild Wars can only enhance your gaming pleasure. =)

A small mistake there. Perhaps I'm wrong, I don't have this game so I probably am. But you said "I got the big picture when I made the pre-build level 60 " and to my knowledge, the levels go up to 20.

    Thanks for the thoughts.

I read in the press releases from Arenanet that the way that WoW is updating their PvP is by allowing them access to the Guild Wars PvP Arenas.

Even then it wouldn't be as cool because you can only play one class. thats where WoW gets boring imo

the class archetype system of gw is amazing!

and yea, to other poster- i meant lv20

and the 8 skill slots even makes it MORE replayable, reminds me of the Discord everquest server :P

I think Guild Wars would be a perfect mini-game in WoW while waiting to enter Battle Grounds. Good suggestion::::28::

GuildWars is becoming a world sport. The first world events starts this summer.

Dont need to compare it with WoW cause soon that game will vanish. Kids only like the new bike while its new....

Man I hope that's true, GW is free to have all the '1337' kiddies. ::::20::

Giuld Wars is a great alternative to the heavyweights. No need to argue which is better EQII or WoW, all should like GW. image
